Removal of Armor Pen Makes Some Champions Unviable

Jayce is my prime example, after the removal of armor pen, he is nearly unviable and worthless. Yes, you can still play him as a tanky bruiser (which is nearly worthless as he has no real CC to provide to the team), but that's not how majority of players like Jayce, most like him as a bursty AD assassin with his flashy combo's and massive poke damage. Just by taking out Last Whisper, his E-Q ranged poke has been nerfed into the equivelant of throwing a pebble at a mountain. Nearly all bursty AD champions are massively affected by the removal of armor pen and will be in such a weakened state it will be very difficult to use them.

Maybe Riot will fix this somehow, however unlikely that is, so post your thoughts on this subject below to possibly encourage a fix or find a new way to do things.

Before the changes you hade Black Cleaver, Youmuu's, Last Whisper, and The Brutilizer (4 Items). Masteries could give you 6% armor pen.

Now you have Black Cleaver, Serrated Dirk, Youmuu's Ghostblade, Maw of Malmortius, Last Whisper (IT'S STILL THERE IT'S JUST NOT A FINAL TIER ITEM), Mortal Reminder, Lord Dominik's Regards (7 Items). And masteries that give 7% armor pen.

So please, tell me how much armor pen has been taken out.

Last Whisper doesn't have armor pen, it has BONUS armor pen. Black Cleaver shreds armor with auto's so that's not armor pen. They even took out the Brutilizer and removed the armor pen from warrior's enchant for junglers. Unless it has +?? Armor Pen on it, its not really armor pen, so some items above aren't gonna work for the AD Assassins.

The Bonus armor pen still counts because you're still penetrating their armor, just not their base armor which is 65 - 105 armor depending on the champion, so a nerf to last whisper but it is still armor pen.

And how does that help an assassin deal with somebody not attacking armor? Now there base armor is even more effective at stopping you

Are you seriously asking how an assassin can deal with a target that isn't stacking armor? A squishy target that will still blow up in 3 moves? Come on dude think a little.

what i mean is that before you could one shot the squishy, and now it may take longer and put you at risk of cc and death

It shreds armor with Physical Damage, not just autos. Mean that almost all of Jayce's abilities besides Lightning field will reduce armor. It's not armor pen, but it still reduces armor.

The thing about this however, is the armor needs to be reduced before Jayce uses his abilities. He needed the base armor pen to be viable, now, he is overly weak as a bursty assassin.

Reread patchnotes. Can't find anywhere it says armor pen has been removed.

It removed armor pen from a majority of the items, now its mostly just "BONUS" armor pen, so that doesn't help AD Assassin's in any way shape or form.
