Actually unpopular opinion: Leona is a jungler, not a support.

She has A tier clear speed, clears within a fraction of a second of Nocturnes clear. *Not godtier clear speed, that is limited to champions that can dash over walls, and save travel time.

She has strong ganks. She has strong build paths. She has strong duel power, with a few exceptions that give her trouble. Udyr will beat yo ass in the early game if you walk into him, whereas a Leesin, or a Xin cant beat you up.

Leona in the bot lane, is just outright hardcountered by nearly every bot lane matchup that there is. The things shes strong against, are so rarely played that she hardly ever is a optimal pick, and you are virtually always better off picking Alistar. Zenith blade is denied by every support in the game that isn't Sona. to make matters worse, Zenith Blade is denied by half the ADC's as well. That insanely slow, predictable, telegraphed missle of a engage is too easy to counterplay in the bot lane. Theres no reason to not pick Alistar and point and click your Headbutt, its faster, impossible to miss, and all around more functional in a bot lane environment. Leona can actually land Zenith Blades if she has Mobis+Deadmans+Relentless Hunter, sitting in a support slot doesn't really give her the opportunity to build a deadmans tho. Jungling does, and it really makes her shine.

This isn't even an opinion. It's an incorrect fact.

Yes and No. You're right about everything but the damage. If she gets a Cinderhulk or Echo, she can clear somewhat well, but it's definitely not as fast as traditional junglers in the first 2-3 clears, which are the clears that matter. Her onboard kit damage is just too low in most cases unless all lanes hold out until she's ready (which almost never happens)

You're not incorrect that she can be played in the jungle. However, that doesn't mean much for categorization, honestly. As phrased, you're just wrong.

As for her merits in the jungle, she definitely has some things going for her. She has strong ganks when she hits Zenith. However, frankly I think you overestimate the dueling power she has. Not to say she doesn't have any (because she definitely does when more geared for damage), but a lot of early game junglers should be performing relatively fine against her in a 1v1.

And also, no, she isn't "outright hardcountered" in bot lane. Though, I will grant that you do need a ADC that's on relatively the same page as you though, lol.

Her fastest clear is with Warrior, not Cinderhulk. Ludens Echo, never. You generally don't want to go Cinderhulk on her unless your team and yourself are losing pretty badly. like 80% of her clear power is in her extremely short CD AA reset. So the value of Warrior is ridiculous, it may as well be a 2000g trinity force.

She actually is as fast as traditional junglers, but you have to be intelligent with the way you use your abilities to maximize your clear speed. Time your AA resets correctly. Make sure you tag everything with Zenith Blade first, so that they take the DoT damage, before your Eclipse detonates and extends the DoT. Time your Eclipse to wipe out baby Krugs. She clears faster than a good portion of traditional junglers. Pretty healthily as well, altho a bad trade somewhere might force you to recall early. As long as you don't get into any bad situations you'll do a first clear with 100% health, and 2 pots left.

Im not having any problems steamrolling through Gold(Got placed there), back into Plat. While playing exclusively jungle Leona. Been toying with it all pre-season, and can comfortably say, its good. 60% win rate with 120games at plat mmr. It aint god tier, like I could get a lot more done early as Lee, but more mid/late with Leona.

Core build 9 out of 10 times is Warrior>Mobis>Deadmans. Everything after that is very dependent on the game.

I was hoping to check in on some of your builds and stats...i think this sounds interesting, but it doesn't look like you've played it on this account. Can you link your op.gg?

Do you know if E AA Q triggers electrocute? It looks like you've just been running inspiration for extra $$ ... But if I can E in, land my first auto then Q and get electrocute damage I may want to try that too.

You can run Electrocute, its just the secondaries in Inspiration are really useful, since you wont be getting very many killing blows. Youre gonna need the extra income of Magical Footwear, Futures Market , and 45% CDR is 100% uptime on Eclipse

So you could reverse it and go Domination>Inspiration. But Klepto just puts out better results, Electrocute isn't going to make or break any of your skirmishes.

and the main reason I don't run it is because USUALLY(Not always) Warrior is the only item I build that will scale Electrocute. So itd just end up being garbage by mid game.

I see...i was thinking electrocute-sudden impact-zombie ward-ravenous hunter. Shield bash-revitlaize. Then attack speed-armor-health should give you a jump on early healthy clears...but im at work and can't play test anythings for hours...
