My personal Rune refunding experience
I started playing in Season 4. For a time, I could have bought a Wriggle's Lantern, which, along with Youmuu's Ghostblade and Lux, I knew more about than anything else in the game, simply because they were touhou references.
Anyways, I'm picky with my champions. Not only because I hate rolling a champion I'm inexperienced with in random select game modes, but because I feel obligated to get to Mastery 5 on every champion I own. I also seldom leave my comfort zone, and as such, this has resulted in my full champion pool looking like this: http://i.imgur.com/bWx6ZgT.png No tanks. No junglers. The only melee champions are Jayce and Kayle, and the latter was a gift from Riot to begin with.
Anyways, as you can tell, I don't have a lot of champions. 28 total, accumulated over 3 years of play.
What I do have, are a lot of runes. 46 Marks. 19 Seals. 24 Glyphs. 17 Quintessences. 10 Rune Pages.
This has, in total, cost me hundreds of thousands in IP. Vladimir's spellvamp runes, Janna's GP10 runes, Bard's movespeed runes, I liked to avoid one-page-fits-all situations to fully fulfill the fantasies these champions are supposed to embody.
In return for my 106 runes and 8 additional rune pages, I will be given back 26000 BE.
IP is being converted to Blue Essence, so I am being given the equivalent to 26000 IP.
Let's say I wanted to buy more champions. The most appealing, at the top of my head, are Xayah, Jhin, Zyra, Ziggs and Karma.
That will be all I can get. Maybe a 450 champion if I felt compelled, but that's about it.
With the IP that could have ascended me to, as Riot calls it, "IP Dragon"hood, I will be getting enough IP to expand my champion pool to 34.
Riot pls.
