Begging for buffs for my old main, "who didn't deserve the nerfs"
I've been playing League of Legends for two or three years now. Through my time playing, I've picked up three mains. Maybe four.
My first main was Sona. I'm certain I romanticize her old gameplay, but the rework ruined her for me. It took her kit in a direction I don't like, and while she currently has the most mastery points of all my champions, I'm neither good enough with her, nor enjoy her enough to call her my main.
My second main was Vladimir. I picked him up at a time when he was absolute garbage. His E was bugged to not properly increase healing with spellvamp, so his goals were to sit around passively as long as possible to hit his later powerspikes. When it was fixed, the buff made him amazing for me. Alas, it was not meant to be. Vlad is my main between mains. I like him, but I'm a Support player. I like the freedom to focus on my opponents, poking all game long, ignoring cs most of the time. Vlad Support got a huge buff with the rework, (You can rush Rylai's after Eye of the Equinox and don't need to build wota in between) but overall I just feel like there's no benefit over Vlad top or mid. He makes a good lane bully, but his Rylai's still comes too late to provide meaningful cc. His self-healing pushes the lane, and If laning phase goes poorly, he mainly offers waveclear to his team. If you ever wondered what a split-pushing Support looks like, this is the closest analogue, and it's not that great.
My third main was Miss Fortune. When I first got her, I didn't really like her. To this day, I prefer Jinx as an adc. When I really started to enjoy her was when I started playing her as an AP Support. I found her really, really fun. In no time at all, she climbed to rank 5 mastery and cemented herself as the highest mastery point amount I had for any champion.
"Oh, AP Miss Fortune Support? That's so troll!" I hear you, oh strawman, say to yourself. I gotta say, honestly, it wasn't. In case you haven't figured it out, the buffs I'm begging for are for Miss Fortune. Whenever I play her, it fills me with sad salt. "Miss Supportune didn't deserve the nerf." I say game after game, far more than I should, mourning her unplayable state, wishing she could approximate her glory days. "Yes she did, that shit was op" my friend would tell me. "The nerfs were targetted at AD Fortune." I would say back.
Allow me to state it clearly: Supportune wasn't just some off-meta thing I enjoyed doing time and again. I honestly felt that she was the best Support I could play, securing a free laning phase for my adc with her immense poke. Make it Rain was a long-range aoe slow with a high AP Ratio, high base damage and stronger slow than most are used to at its higher ranks. It gives Miss Fortune the best synergy with the Spellthief's line in the game bar none and incredible synergy with Liandry's Torment.
Even playing her now, I have a lot of fun. The problem is, she's not good anymore.
The problem with her was, as it was explained in the patch notes, that AD Fortune started maxing E simply because of the damage it offered. (Which is absurd because not once did I see an AD MF max Make it Rain) The result of the nerf was that Miss Fortune lost 100 base damage on it at rank 5, gutting AP Fortune and especially Supportune. (Who relies on Make it Rain far more heavily than Lichbane Double Up) You can still play her as she used to, but doing things right won't give nearly as good a reward.
After that I drifted back to Vladimir, but clearly he was not my ideal choice of main. Nami's fun sometimes, but her poke feels too weak. I like going aggressive with her, but it's not that hard to punish her for it.
Can AP Fortune please get some love? A buff to make it rain, or an AP ratio on Love Tap? I'm despairing that she'll be stuck as she is, and that AP Fortune will be dead forever.
