Riot, support mains need you to do this one little thing for us
Hey Meddler, Repertoir, and gang. How's it going?
With preseason coming and the fact that you've got other things on your list for after it I've got the feeling you guys are going to be doing a lot of itemization work in the near future based on some of the things I've seen Repertoir say and ask in the forums. So I think it's time to address this one little support problem.
Now don't get me wrong, these are great things and I'm fine warding. However there's an issue. That issue is that you need to have an inventory slot open at all times to be able to use one of those things. Most of the time this isn't an issue, but come late game, it can be. Basically no other class has to give up an item slot for vision, while supports have to give up 2 of them. First for the eyestone item for your class of support and then another for control wards.
I'd like to suggest riot doing 1 of 2 things:
- If you get a sightstone, either your yellow trinket converts to a pink trinket or you can upgrade it for a small cost. This would limit it mostly to supports, but let's be honest, if it's late game no one else is even going to think about giving up their full build for a measly pink. Now if you guys add stightstone upgrades for non-supports, that'd be even better. But that's a separate discussion.
- Give us a support item or two (maybe a non-support item even) that lets us put down a control ward as an active effect.
would give stats any support could make use of. All support camps could use HP and AP and this would be strictly better on all of them than just a control ward in their inventory.
