Get rid of/Rework Support

I don't really have any ideas as to how to rework the whole concept of a support, but I'd say it's inherently toxic. Every other lane and the jungler's performance depends on one thing: themselves. Bot lane depends on the performance of someone else. Whether its the ADC who rushes a item 3004 or uses all his skills to cs yet is still behind by than more half of the enemy ADC or the support who takes all the CS, misses all their skill shots, or doesn't ever actually ever try to help the ADC in trades it subsequently hinders your performance compared to being by yourself. It's just frustrating to be in SoloQ and get paired with a crappy laner because I was last pick and didn't get my preferred role. That being said, I'm not complaining about that. I'll do it just fine. I just think there could be something better instead.

I get that it's a whole meta thing, and that the meta can shift at any time but with how hard Riot has been enforcing it I doubt it ever will without change on their behalf.

Your problem is obviously with Solo Queue, not Support.

Sounds like you don't like bad players not bot lane. In which case go play COD it's easier to carry there.

From what you said. Its not the supports role thats flawed, its the intelligence of who you play with.

Your conclusions are fair enough, but that's not the big picture. Riot is all about(or at least the claim to be) fighting the enemy, not the game. If my performance is directly linked to another play, whether that makes my performance better or worse, it's still a flawed concept. It's not the idea of teamwork that I'm against, but I shouldn't be punished because my lanemate is a jerkoff.

I'm also not saying I'm perfect and grab all the farm or land all my snares or make the best decisions all of the time, but it is significant disadvantage when the lane relies on the cohesion of synchronization of two players. Setting up a gank is entirely different, because the jungler comes in, does their CC/dmg/whatever etc. It's not like having a support where you're both constantly switching from zoning and farming to locking down and killing or one of the many other play styles for bot lane.

So while I can see why it appears that my problem is with solo queue, it's actually not. Granted solo queue makes this the most obvious, in 5v5s or even with a duo, you're generally going to have a number of games under your belt together and be better synchronized, but that can only go so far. You're two different people and you're going to think in different ways and decide on different things. While you can communicate this with your duo/team beforehand, in a game where split second decisions can make a huge difference, it's not always an option to sit there and discuss whether you should flash ult the enemy or something of that nature. If it was a solo lane and you knew you'd be able to secure the kill by yourself, then you could easily go in and flash ult. But when its a duo lane and you're relying on your teammate to follow up with damage/cc/etc then it's much more cloudy.

I'd like to point out that by the time it takes me to type/say(over voice chat or something) "I'm going to flash ult their Draven!" it could already be far too late and I missed my opportunity.
