Why isn't lp loss based on personal performance?

Why should i lose 20 lp every loss when my average kda as a mid Kat is 14.1 / 7 / (dont remember assist count) and If I'm out csing my opponent, warding often, and taking turrets. Dont get why I should get penalized as hard as one of my allies (4/10 ezreal last game you'll never guess how fed the caitlyn was) every other game even though I almost always (90%) dominate my lanes but can't carry bronze players that don't realize that tops outer turret is a lower priority than our inner turrets.

because solo q isnt about how well you personally do in game. Riot has even stated its about carrying your team and being a leader.

It is the way it is because you win and lose as a team. Your stats should not matter; the only thing that matters is that you won or lost. The best example of this is Singed. Singed might die a lot, but if he's playing right then he'll still be contributing a lot to his team.

A player's contribution to a win or loss is not merely represented in the stats alone, so that's why LP gains and losses should not be based off of stats.

because a) it wouldn't be able to be fair for some scenarios

b) it would promote selfish gameplay in a team game

c) it's a team game

There are several reasons why your personal performance should have no impact on your MMR/LP gains and losses.

  • It's a team game: Sure you can talk about your precious K/D/A and that's real nifty, but the truth of the matter is that your K/D/A is largely irrelevant if you lose the game. Let's say a player goes 4-for-4 with 4 Home runs in game 7 of the World Series but his team still loses, guess what... he doesn't get a trophy or a championship ring. You win as a team and you lose as a team. If you're getting all those kills but not winning then it implies that you don't know how to take advantage of your lead or how to play from a position of strength, therefore it's just as much your fault as it is that of your team.

  • Games would become even more toxic with players so consumed with personal stats that everyone would be screaming about "kill stealing". No focus would be given to objectives; imagine every Bronze game you've ever seen or played and now multiply it by 10,000. Chasing through the unwarded jungle, games lasting for an hour or more because people wanted to pad their stats. No fucking thank you.

  • What metrics would even be used to determine personal performance? Simply your K/D/A? Objectives? Warding? Because some of these variables could be manipulated easily and take away from the spirit of the game entirely. Individuals might learn the best way to optimize their gains by figuring out the most efficient way to min/max these attributes rather than trying to improve on their actual game play.

  • Individual achievement would lead to very unbalanced matchups. Suppose your average low Silver player maximizes their personal performance and artificially climbs to Gold. Now, imagine this hapening repeatedly and wait as games become even more one-sided because people figured out how to get kills, but not objectives and those that are still objective based or have a better working knowledge of the game absolutely decimate these players. Games become even less desirable to play and the entire system collapses.

There's really no benefit nor is there a practical way to utilize a personal performance system to help manipulate MMR.
