Everything I hate about League of Legends

Because I find the state of the game immensely frustrating, I decided to compile a list in no particular order on what I personally hate about League. Feel free to debate my views. Congratulations if you can disagree and enjoy the game, that's wonderful and I sincerely wish I could too.

I won't elaborate further on some of the points, as they're mostly self-explanatory.

"Just quit the game and stop complaining if you don't like it." No.

  • The incoherence or sheer insanity of the balance live design team, completely breaking and or overbuffing champions in one patch yet generally too afraid to implement/hotfix essential balance changes in a timely matter, or at all. I deliberately chose "afraid" because from what I've read their reasoning is "need to test this and this and that for whatever amount of weeks on the pbe/playtest environment before we can implement the change". This is understandable for some changes, it isn't for number adjustments.

  • Some people's hypocrisy on Stopwatch being a playmaking rune(?) when in theory it denies the same amount of plays. And unironically it denies an entire class.

  • Toplane is gated by tanks (including Gnar), champions that can't lane against these are virtually unplayable.

  • No bruiser keystone/option to start with AD/AP+AS (8AD 13%AS), nothing about a bruiser keystone on the pbe, precision tree is gated by adcs, no ranged/melee-specific components/bonuses.

  • The absolutely disgusting impact junglers have on toplane with no actual way for a toplaner to efficiently play around them. It's always push the lane and play aggressive to maybe win and get ganked, - or play passive/afk under tower and lose lane. Toplane is either decided by the rock paper scissors mechanic of picks, or junglers. This is frustrating.

  • Twitch jungle is the quintessential of the aforementioned, forcing laners to literally afk. Great game design.

  • Assassins can not kill their targets. That's it. Why am I playing Zed when my opponent has sums, then Stopwatch, then sums, then Zhonyas, then in the later stages of the game the adc has GA, and logically because you are more likely NOT to snowball off of lanes (because of Stopwatch), assassins are unable to damage an adc past their shields that effectively times 4 their health bars. Why play early-midgame champions/mids when there's a rune that completely prevents them from playing the game at the time they're supposed to play it? For free.

  • A champion with 300+ bugs and an outdated model/kit exists, yet reworking Irelia is a priority.

  • ADC's apparently can't be balanced to the point where they don't gatekeep the entire game and its items, Riot refuses to implement more melee-specific attributes in both items and runes.

  • The matchmaking punishes winning by matching players on a winstreak with players on a losing streak consistently and deliberately, - which wouldn't be much of an issue, however

  • This game has and is becoming more and more team reliant. A single player loses the entire game, whereas single players are less likely to win games. In soloqueue.

  • Riot just can not balance champions that have been in an awful state, they either never address the champion, rework and ruin them/their playstyle (Aatrox), or break them completely (Nunu). Rational number/gameplay changes are just out of consideration. Why?

  • Bruisers, an early-midgame class have the most expensive item build, ADC's, a SUPPOSEDLY lategame class have the lowest cost item build with the highest lategame-efficiency. This in addition to supports providing thousands in temporary gold in the form of healing/shields/stats, breaks the game.

  • Champions that can not be interacted with exist within the game. Malzahar, Vlad, Heimer, Ornn etc. Some of them were eventually nerfed, though usually the problematic aspect is not.

  • Riot has the audacity to target a champion's skill expression for nerfs. (Recent example Ornn.)

  • Dodging games is essential and undeniably important to climbing/winning/enjoying the game, yet dodge timers are too punishing and in consideration with autofill and autolosses it, leads to a lot of wasted time.

  • Tanks win everything ever; the lane, the midgame and the lategame.

  • I'll get downvoted for this one, but: I don't care about E-sport. At all. Seeing people talk about the balancing of League/soloqueue from an E-sport perspective, is sickening.

Edit: Possible Stopwatch solution besides the one on PBE: Stopwatch is available at 8 minutes instead of 6 and the stasis duration is decreased from 2.5 seconds to 1.

Agree with everything on this list, I'd like to add the obvious dichotomy between gutting old champs completely (instead of rationally balancing them) while continuing to release brand new champs with completely overloaded kits every single time. Abilities that do multiple things, passives with 3 or 4 plus components, stuns/ccs with little counterplay, champs with basically no resource requirements other than cd length, etc. And often these champs aren't nerfed for a year or more because they want to sell to more people. I feel like alot of these champions they put out are left overloaded and obviously broken to dangle them out like pieces of candy for people to buy.

Riot are like crack dealers at this point, they give you extremely potent drugs to get you hooked, then start gradually cutting and cutting that product over time after you're reliably a customer. Mark my words same shit will happen with Swain rework too. He'll be inevitably gutted in 6 months to a year, they did the same thing to Vlad after his rework. Yet they can release champions like Ornn which are tanky, can't be fought by any lane opponents, and whose kits have overloaded advantages, don't nerf for months and month.

Stop Watch is quite ineffective even tho it's better going a different path.

I mean if it is still problematic there is a simple solution to tune it down a notch by making it so:

You can't upgrade to a full item with a broken stopwatch You can repair it for 200 gold (repaired stopwatch no longer usable for a stasis effect)

From myself I will add: -The arms race. Cheap champions are weaker than expensive ones, they are more interesting and effective.

-The game is very fast. In the dothe components of the gameplay is much larger and they are more difficult, but in itself the dot is tightened and quickly accelerates towards the end of the game. Lol has about a third of the game elements from the DotA but from the very first seconds it's very fast. Quickly kill any champions in the beginning, any error gives the effect of a snowball, explosive damage or damage from which it is impossible to defend, all this is too much.

-Personazhi strong in any situationYasuo Vayne ShyvanaGnar and characters useless in 99% of casesNunu Amumu Hecarim .

What do you mean by this?

Basically they're two different games, E-sport doesn't always apply to soloqueue and vice versa.

I just hate one thing most of all things...

That we as a community have no power or say in what should be changed, buffed nerfed, fixed. I mean I understand why Riot wouldn't listen to us but one man can hope.
