The reason of current player frustration with the game

Is that League of Legends has fundamentally changed in the aspects that were the primary motivation and reasons for veteran players to play and keep playing. League isn't the game we've enjoyed anymore, and Riot has made the conscious decision of changing it in ways that appeal to a larger, but different audience, which just happens to conflict with the motives of veteran players.

That's it, guys. The game won't change for the better. All that remains now is that we quit and hand over the game to the casual players who enjoy 20 minute deathbrawls. We've been surpassed by the next generation of gaming.

40 minute strategic games with personal skill influence and unbiased matchmaking? How would your average casual player enjoy the game if he'd lose >50% of his games? Investing time in video games so that skill development is eventually a reward? Grow up.

What's our motivation to keep playing? Still hoping that League will return to its former glory?

It won't.

I pity the streamers that are basically forced into streaming League just because their viewerbase hasn't changed. It's obvious that the majority of popular streamers are not in it for the game anymore.

But hey, LCS is great, right? .. Right?

You are right sadly on this

League isn't the game we've enjoyed anymore, and Riot has made the conscious decision of changing it in ways that appeal to a larger, but different audience, which just happens to conflict with the motives of veteran players.

It's sad how true this is. It honestly hurts me to see league in its current state, and reading this kinda makes me feel betrayed by Riot. Abandoning the players that got them here to chase after a completely different crowd.

The really bad part about it is that we veterans lack a real alternative. The niche that old league had just isn't occupied right now, all the other established mobas occupie different niches cause they couldn't or didn't want to compete with league back in the day. The one that tried competeing in the same niche was dawngate, and they sadly failed. if dawn gate was still around, i would long have left league since 5.22...

Why play a strategy game when you can play a game of 'who has the best reflexes' and 'wtf was that dmg?!?' [zombie-brand-clap] I mean isn't that what we're all here for?

This is the part of your statement that I take issue with. You are trying to argue that the game is less strategic, but you haven't actually provided any reasoning for that.

Why do you consider earlier lane rotations and earlier pushes to secure key objectives to be less strategic?

What is more strategic about farming on your own island in lane for 20 minutes?

How do you think Matchmaking has changed since Season 1?

Why do you think the average casual player would lose more than 50% of his games?

These are just some of the things you just /assume/ to be true but for which provide no actual evidence or even reasoning.

What objectively has changed? I've played this since before season 1 and I don't get it.

Haven't watched it, will not watch it, and don't care to watch it. But sure, it is "Great"

Honestly this change was good. I'm no longer playing 5ish games a day. I get good sleep now.

I have never seen so many topics and post on the board about the game being in a bad state aswell as streamers saying they are considering quitting. How hard would it be to make League great again ? I have been playing since season 2 and I can say the game has never been in such a shitty state. They need to change objectives.

  • Old dragon was better, people would fight for it all game and sometimes it was a great way to comeback and made the early game more exciting, now it's just something that you take when you are already winning.

  • Old rift was also better, it had less HP and it created alot of 2v2 and 3v3 skirmishes and give an advantage, instead of just helping you close the game quicker when you are already ahead.

  • towers did more damage and were harder to take, wich created more opportunites for roam and protected laners from bad dive, now let's be honest when you get dove you die no matter what.

  • Supports are freaking OP now but that's just an opinion i dont have stats on this, just something i noticed.

Yup people want shorter games and people want to win 100% of those games. I been here since season 1 and winning a 50+ minute game felt good, losing a 50+ minute game felt bad but not as bad as 1 sided stomp games because i felt the game was close and it could of gone ether way. With that all being said i learned more about the game and my self in those 50 minute games then i do in these 15-25 minute death battles.

Well I am pretty new player (since end of season 6) But I also don't like the current state of the game
