Riot can we talk about your 450ip champ options

What do the following 5 of the 13 cheap champs have in common?

Amumu Garen Nunu Poppy Singed

If you answered they are all primarily tanks, you are correct. I really think you guys need to plan out your cheap champs a little better so the people who don't want to play they style of champ have a few more options. By contrast, there's only 2 supports and one of them is a support/mid hybrid. There's also only 2 ADCs on that list. While I'm looking at it, there's only one 1350 adc as well. There's only 1 proper mid (kayle) as annie is seen more bot and I think ryze is a top laner right now.

Are you guys are riot honestly telling us there are only 2 supports and 2 adcs fit for the 450ip price tag? I mean if you are new to the game, you might think that LOL favors tanks as those are disproportionally represented. I mean Janna would have been a much better option for 450 IP than singed.

Whoever does the price drop decisions really needs to do a better job so newer ADCs and Mids have some better options. Why? Well if you are new to the game, your only mid options are a top who is about to get his 17th rework, a mid forced into the support role, and someone who has a weird build, a non-midult, and is always getting nerfed. At least new ADCs get a currently powerful Ashe and push for days Sivir. Both of those are pretty solid and have great teamfight ults.

champ price tags have not been about champ skill for a long time.

new champs are 6300 every champ release the oldest 6300 becomes 4800 every third champ release they reduce the price of one 4800 or below champ

It doesn't matter what paradigm they'd use for reducing champ prices, that would take years to see an effect at a rate of about one price reduction every 6 months or longer.

I agree that new players need a few more options of what champs they can buy when they have little ip.

Champion price is based on how old the champion is. There is no "this would be a good starting champ" or any of the sort. Could there be a better way so we have more variety in cheap champions? Absolutely, but it won't be until how old a champion is stops being the prerequisite for it

Your talking about the environment for the new players. Yet you make it sound like the new players need to jump in to the standard meta that everyone else plays right away.

Also, Riot would likely classify half of those as fighters, Garen by definition is a Juggernaut, And poppy can be built more fighter, even if full Tank is considered the meta build.

Newer players arn't going to care if Annie is a support by meta. Not when her Ratio's are good enough to be an APC. Neither do they really need to be concerned about why Ryze goes Top or mid, though he has other problems for new players, as his kit is beyond unusual.

The problem with the ADC's are, they are both Utility ADC's. Neither Sivir or Ashe, is going to be more overtly powerful than say, a caitlyn or a Miss Fortune. So with the exception of Trist, they lack a High DPS option. But still, new players are probably not going to be able to tell, or even need to know the difference right away.

Having more options help pull in new players and having them staying. As of right now the new player experience is horrendous for a game this big. It takes so much time to grind for IP to get champions. Then you have to worry about runes and rune pages. I've been playing this game for 3 years and I still have maybe about 30 champs I still haven't bought. Then there's runes and rune pages. I have 4 rune pages with a few complete set of runes. My yellow and blue runes are pretty much the same for all 4 pages.

A few of my friends that i got playing with me quit because there's so little content for new players starting out and it take a lot of time to access those contents.

Even though it's said elsewhere I feel the need to reiterate it simply because so many people make this mistake; being tanky does not make someone a tank. If you build Ashe defensively does that make you a tank? No, it makes you a tanky marksman.

By the old system of classification Garen is a primary fighter, secondary tank. By the new one he is a Juggernaut, which is a type of fighter, not a type of tank. In no world is he a tank.

Ashe and Sivir are generally always usable to some capacity, simply for their utility (Ashe) or waveclear/farming ability (Sivir).

Honestly, you can get a playable ADC at any price point now that Miss Fortune's 3150. It's just that all the currently meta ADCs are 4800 or higher.

As Riot adds more champions, the they always lower 1 champion in each ip tier down, accordingly. One 6300 ip champion becomes 4800 ip, so on and so forth. It will eventually balance out.
