"You can't outplay with Draven. You can only surprise." -- Tyler1

Draven needs a lot of technical skill - meaning you need to master skills needed on every ADC to be viable at him.

His kit has very little outplay potential and it's purely raw damage.

The only skill he has to outplay is his E and R's return.

However, technical skill is not completely equivalent to mechanical intensity of a champion. Draven as a champion is not mechanically intensive. Draven as an ADC is mechanically intensive.

BTW source is Tyler1's reaction to Doublelift's video.

Imo Draven does require skill, he's like... a frontline marksman ? He doesn't have any dash aside of his movement speed buff. The issue is the interaction of life-steal with him, same as crit. It should receive the Vayne Q treatment, aka Q damage being bonus damage, and not auto-attack modifiers (meaning if he crits, he'll deal a basic attack crit + normal bonus damage on his Q, same as life-steal that would only apply to a basic aa, and not regen 300+ hp with a single crit)

Draven does require skill despite his kit itself being simple and straightforward,_ at the higher levels of play._ Ask yourself how it would be like to play any other champion while doing a literal juggling act with your mouse.

This makes him a pupstomper in low elo sure, but the higher you go, the easier it is to abuse his self handicap.

You don't outplay with Draven.

In higher elos, you mostly play safer and only go in at optimal situations.

Vayne and Kai'Sa can be in very sticky situations but come out alive due to just a much larger array of opportunities.
