Don't play a damage carry top. That's just stupid and all you will do is feed. Just play a tanky utility top laner that isn't dependent on gold to be relevant. Feeding 12 kills as Fiora to the Riven by 20 minutes doesn't help anyone. When you become that useless and feed that much no one can win. You just handed the game over to the Riven to solo carry with raw stats, exp and gold advantage. If you were a tanky top laner you could endure and actually have a meaningful contribution in teamfights.

Yeah, never going to happen. They're going to play Fiora and continue to all in the enemy 1v1 while being 8 kills and 64 cs behind.

My viewpoint of filling is that, if you end up getting autofilled, play someone who you won't die easily as. If you know you might not carry, at least prevent the enemies from carrying. It's like how to counter some champions is literally to 'not die' to them early game. As obvious as that sounds, many people do forget it from time to time (and thus e.g. play a damage carry top or something)
