Gnar really needs Frozen Mallet the hits to it were too much, HE IS BORDERLINE UNPLAYABLE NOW and it hurts really hard. At this point I would gladly take compensation nerfs than more buffs to Gnar if it means Frozen Mallet is restored to 20% or even buffered to 30% if it means he can have it back.
Riot really made a mistake underestimating just how integral Frozen Mallet is to the viability of Gnar than anything else.

there was no reason to hit Mallet. Just hit Gnar then, everyone wins because then Gnar still remains playable.
I feel betrayed Riot would even remotely consider such a massive hit on a champion with such depth like Gnar, not to mention he is the face of LCS top lane.

Considering that A LOT of players will imitate competitive and high elo to their respective level, there's more of a similarity than you think. You can't tell me that you haven't had at least one game where someone would state they "saw this in LCS." Gnar doesn't sorely require the item either. You're just refusing to roll with punches and would rather play a single style forever.
As for the Maokai remark, remind me next week.
