Taliyah's E seems clunky.

From what I've seen on PBE game play, her E seems very clunky, the initial cast slows and does slight damage. BUT it's the second part, the explosion that is so f*cking hard to land it takes 4 secs to go off. That doesn't seem like a lot but in all honesty you could pause, and still walk out. I really think Riot should redesign the E to be more of a 'wave' motion of earth rising and settling, (like how people do the wave in a crowd) and have it apply a small slow and one part of damage no second.

Also ps thought people would detonate the second part of the E if they walked on it, seems the only way to actually get your opponent to take damage from the second part of the E is to bump them into it with your W which a lot of gameplay with. Commentary say it is rather difficult to land.

You don't need people to stand in the E to get extra damage from it. You use your W and force them to dash through it, causing them to take damage that way. It's not hard to land after you use the E on them.

The point of it lasting 4 seconds is to prevent people from dashing through it. It works very well for that. It also punishes people who get locked down or who are trying to chase through it.

Clunky isn't a word to use to describe it. It feels fine to use.

I say that commentary doesn't know what it's on about. This shit is no harder to land than anything else.

That's not what clunky means to me.

You're describing the worst use case for it where it's a zoning tool that creates a place the enemy doesn't want to be in a few seconds. That can force them to make a choice when they're sieging a turret since they either want to go in or back off instead of standing there (and they might not all make the same choice, splitting them up) or they just continue what they're doing and take damage.

Another case would be when you're afraid of a champion with a dash (LeBlanc) and you want to punish them diving into your team to try and assassinate you, they then are looking at a ton of extra damage for going after you and may choose to leave you be for a moment.

Finally, there are ways where you force the enemy to take damage due to either landing your W and throwing them through mines, one of your allies (Gnar?) doing the same thing, or just gold old stuns and snares holding the enemy in place for long enough that they no longer have time to run out of the mines.

I just hate the way it looks. Reminds me of the old school Space Invaders arcade game!

It's still on the PBE, calm down. Riot will do something about it... It's not released in to the actual servers yet. just the pbe

The idea isn't that the explosion after 4 seconds deals damage.

You use the slow to set up a directional knockup with E, and knock them through the stones. Then, they forcibly go off when the enemy flies over them. They also prematurely detonate in this manner if they use any Dash abilities to try and get over the rocks.

So, open with E, use the slow to hit W, and use the knockup to hit Q.

Reread the description of the ability again. It's more than just a damage tool.
