Maybe A New Mage Sub-class?

Earlier today I made a post about how Annie and Malzahar don't feel like mages anymore, but I've since been enlightened to the fact that there are kinda two branches of mages. There's your cowardly spell slingers all the way in the back line like Lux Brand , and then there's these "battle mages", mostly just Ryze and Vladimir. However, with the new changes to Annie and Malz, making them more DPS-focused and MUCH harder to pop, I feel that they finally align more with Ryze and Vlad. So, if fighters could manage to spit out the Juggernauts, why can't mages also have the unique battle mages? I mean, a Ryze or a Vlad handles NOTHING like a Lux or a Brand, and putting them in the same class is kinda...weird. In all honesty, I'm not a mage player, except for a bit of Vlad back when he was OP, but I just really feel that I can't make any connections between a Anivia and the current Annie .

just because their playstyle is different deosnt mean they arent mages.

I mean, they're still mages, just as Juggernauts are still fighters, but JUST classifying them as mages might be an oversimplification?

Riot already planned to create sub-classes for each champions.
