Skillshots should do more than targeted spells

Hello there is something that grinds my gears and it is mostly coming from the mages point of view. it realy grinds my hears when annie has a targeted spell that deals more damage + can stun (NOT snare) on will and other champs such as ahri if they miss one skillshots they get left with nothing. I beleive the more challenging a players kit is the more hard to pull off the more rewarding. How can veigars R deal so much damage.

Sure many will say that champion as ahri and lee sin have mobility and other stuff but really thats no excuse.

Edit: What i Meant to say the larger the risk for one champion to miss the larger ther reward. the lower the risk the lower the reward. That is my personal opinion. free discusion please.

Ahri Q deals way more damage than Annie Q. True Damage is always stronger than you expect.

Not even mentioning its higher range and AoE.

Skillshots typically (but not always) have an advantage in range and/or AoE and/or damage and/or additional effects, among other possible factors.

Alternatively, the power may be allocated elsewhere in a champion's kit.

Finally, skillshots always, always have the advantage of flexibility and versatility. You don't need to target an enemy champion so they can be used to hit units who are stealthed or in fog-of-war and you can time them to hit an untargetable champion as soon as they appear (before they have a chance to move).

Annie's abilities deal a significant amount of damage for their reliability because that is pretty much all she has (aside from an AoE stun and some durability). Annie is completely immobile and all of her abilities have short range (for a mage), limiting her versatility and options during fights/roaming/laning.

You also seem to really underestimate just how influential mobility and versatility can be in comparison to raw damage.

It depends on the champion rather than the spell type.

Veigar Veigar's AP stacks off of his Q, which is a skillshot. Kill things with Q, get more AP, hyper strong ult. Everyone knows how that works.
