Akali has far too much escape

Hello. I know akali has been nerfed multiple times now. She has a high skill floor I get that. But I expect her to get punished when she does a mistake.

I play mostly champs like shen and ahri: So playing against her in top lane with shen is so frustrating. I might taunt her in a tower but she just e's out to safety. I conitnue to chase her down then she W's then e's out again. I mean why do we allow her to use e to escape so much? is W not enough? She has good damage but her E cooldowns need tuning.

When you get taunted in a tower that means you fucked up, that means that you are taking a very high risk. For all champs (except akali ) when you are taunted in the tower pretty much means that you will have to play safe until you regain your HP or go back base. In most scenarios when I taunt a champ under tower they die. Why does akali have a pass? Why can she just freely do mistakes and not get punished for them? [zombie-brand-clap]

Why are you chasing her as Shen? Shen works best in small trades. He has 1 way to stick to someone, and that's his taunt. Once the taunt wears off, you back off and go back to farming safely.

It sounds like you don't really know how to play Shen, or know how to play around Akali.

Akali's escapes are on long cooldowns. She maxes W second, and E last, and doesn't build a lot of CDR. They also serve triple-duty as her way of engaging, sticking to targets, and getting out of bad situations, so if you can force her to use them, that's a good trade. Once her shroud is down, she needs to play super-safe until she gets it back up, so you can afford to be a bit more aggressive. If she uses her E to get away from you, she won't have it up to get close again.

Against Akali, your job is not to beat her, but to survive her. If you can starve her of gold, she will struggle once the mid and lategame comes around. It doesn't matter if you don't kill her. All you need to to is not die to her, while maintaining enough presence that she can't just leave. Her core item is one of the most expensive items in the game, so if you can delay that powerspike, she won't be strong when her team needs her to be. Bully her off from CS and keep her health low so she can't farm effectively or all-in you, and she will be useless once people start fighting over objectives.

Have you not noticed, that towers are bad at killing nowadays? Seriously, You can't rely on the tower as being an insta win anymore.

Your stupid to think Akali has a "free pass." All assassins have some sort of a dash or an untargetability spell under tower that helps them gtfo away from anyone. Akali right now has 0 untargetable abilities after the removal of her turret invis at patch 9.3.
