Is skarner a good champ?

I have tried top lane. due to me being new to the game and he was one of the first champs I started to mess with,using his ult to mess with others by going CDR and just dragging them under turret xD though now I know his real role,jungle. and I wanted to know if he is good cause I don't see a gap closer....

Yeah... So his early game isn't reallly the best because of the lack of gap closer, but if he can get past the problem of being kited his late game damage is nothing to laugh about, he's ok at best right now and definitely better in solo queue than in team play

His W is his gap closer.

Skarner is very strong but you need to play him correctly. His clear is awesome early in the crystal areas but he's a better peel champ than initiator because of his lack of a gap closer. You can play him like you do with Kench. Tank up and keep people off your carry. He farms really well and can split push ok. His power level at baron and dragon are great because of the crystals.
