Because I am a Scientist (Ph.D.) w/ no access to PBE- Mordekaiser Test -- Warning 1st grade math
Now that
is on PBE and will eventually see itself live fairly soon I decided to run a few tests with Mordekaiser to see how well it fairs as a HP, Armor MS item. My philosophy on the Morde Re-work is that Bot Lane is sustain lane, Top lane is farmland, jungle is potentially possible and mid lane is basically a wash unless you have specific matchups that favor
regardless (i.e.
). Morde now is all about HP and with the new Juggernauts items and a Dragon ghost he can easily be at 6k. But onto the test for this thread.. I
generates an additional 60 MS at 100 while moving. Now for those who have not tried the item yo do generate MS as you are moving, instead of just getting +60 at 100 (this is important to note). It roughly takes ~10 seconds to get up to 100 stacks. Upon hitting ANYTHING with a basic attack the stacks reset to 0 giving bonus physical damage.
At 100 stacks that damage is doubled and the target is slowed 75% for 1 second. I tested this on scuttler... this is huge if you land a hit. Spells including Morde's Q proc do not trigger only AA.
The reason for the recent Morde speed nerf is a bit overkill I will admit... but the numbers don't lie if we look at his PBE stats.
Base MS: 325
stack: +60
W MS: +75
: +8%; In addition to the Rage passive (note: this conflicts with Deadman Passive and should be excluded)
If we do the math discounting Rage passive: (325 + 60 +75) *1.08 = 466. I would honestly like the speed nerf to be reduced somewhat I think -15 is a bit much, but there are mechanisms to compensate. This issue I see is Morde's building pattern. With the speed nerf you are almost forced to build
second. This is weird because this ultimately hamstrings your first big buy which will either be
for the all-round stats and damage or in my opinion the new Titanic Hydra, which is for his lane clearing capabilities.
I did do another test simply playing with
, which gives a passive aoe (circle) damage, its sufficient even with Morde's current AD, titanic hydra will take it one step further changing the circle to a cone which will help Morde catch melee/range minions with 40+ 2.5% of his max HP. With T.Hydra and Dead man we are currently looking at +850 HP though there were talks about boosting hydra to 400 making +1000 HP on top of his base per lvl health.
Lets say morde can acquire both items at Lvl 12. PBE Base Health = 525 + 80/lvl (*11)= 1493 +1000 = 2493 not including Masteries and Runes. Given T.Hydras two passives: Single target passive = AD Damage(+50 hydras base stat) + (20 + bonus 1% of 2493 = AD Damage + ~45
AOE Cone Passive: 40 + 2.5% of 2493 = ~100 Physical damage to all enemies in the cone regardless of distance.
has a distance modifier.
AOE Active (and AA reset like
&
): 20 + 10% of 2493 = ~270 with a 20% cooldown without CDR with 40%CDR 12 sec CD.
This isn't even taking into consideration procs of his Q which will obliterate a single target in the creep wave, players just have to select a new target for each hit. In addition this +1000 HP if T.Hydra HP is buffed results in a bonus 250 passive shield.
After
buy
. Crush them with Deadman Passive (I have noticed that the damage does not show when I proc Q so I usually proc Q after) reduce targets MS by 75% over 1 second, Proc Q hit them continually proc's Rylai's 40% slow. This guarantees his Q hits all three times.
The Morde Juggernaut Build: Titanic Hydra
Sterak's Gage
Every item synergizes especially sterak and
with Morde's buffed base AD and AD/lvl which caps at about 145 lvl 18 = ~218 Base with Sterak *200% =
Spell Blade.
Total cost as it stands ~18000g Max HP ~4500 Max HP with Dragon at 18: Looking at recent videos when you get Dragon it's base HP is around 55% of its actual HP = 4150 Morde gets ~25% of that = ~1040 so with Dragon his HP is ~5600 not counting runes and masteries which can easily get him ~6k his shield passive and Sterak Shield Proc become massive 1500 & 1800 respectively. Titanic Hydra becomes massive, and with the right set up he has dangerous slow CC to lock down any target.
Just figure out how to make his W useful when he is alone and I think he is in a relatively good place for the time being.
