People literally don't even stick around for your ult anymore, since it no longer grants damage reduction, so if you stand inside the landing zone while in a losing battle, you're effectively a moron for waiting.

It's like if Shen's ult didn't give you a shield, and the Shen player was just screaming at you to wait for him and stick around, because in three seconds he'll be there to save you anyway.

Also, taunt is kind of an underwhelming ability, and old E isn't as satisfying as the original one was. Current E is a dash that can't go through fucking walls, despite having to back that ass up into the enemy and possibly screw your own escape attempt, even if it comes with a knock-up, the fact that you can do that, in addition to clipping the side of terrain feels pretty bad.

There's a bunch of shit wrong with this champion, and it seems like you've managed to thoroughly screw this anti-mage tank, just like you screwed Swain from being an anti-assassin drain-tank-mage into being a mage who is only good at catching champions with his E mid-spellcast, and couldn't ever hope to land it on a skilled Zed, Fizz, LeBlanc, ANYTHING with mobility, and god-for-fucking-bid Katarina.

There's a reason Swain goes top and bot more than mid, and why current Galio literally has to build nearly full tank half the time to be useful, or just get blown the fuck up, instead of just being able to incentivize magic resist and be useful due to it. Why don't you revert Abyssal Mask back into Abyssal Scepter, so it can actually be a fun item to build, instead of being a disgustingly expensive tank item with a recipe cost 400+g more than Rod of Ages which builds out of components that cost roughly the same amount of gold.

tbh I'm just happy this champ isn't meta anymore. He's such an anti-fun champ (though there are so many of those now so I guess it doesn't matter)

he should just be reworked

The issue was that its likely Riot designed him either without taking LCS/pros into account or WITH the intention of LCS-big-plays but then overshot. Nearly every champion they have designed that comes with a large amount of cross map mobility and CC like Shen and Tahm, they always end up making big changes to or nerfing bc they always end up very strong in coordinated pro-play and weaking in solo-que.

They made a big mistake in making his ult a cross-map mobility ability, especially given that he didn't have that in his original kit, so when they realized his ult was too strong, ON TOP of the protections not being very visible, all they could do was remove the protections it gave, otherwise it would just be another shen ult. Ur best off NOT using it to safe anyone, but instead having someone who is tanky engage on the enemy, so then u can use ur ult like a second engage, don't even think about it like a team saving ability as much, bc like u said, with its large delay and no protections ur not gonna save much at all. I think the current taunt is fine, its basically a smaller version of the old ult, used correctly it will really mess some people up.

Interesting that u think the new E isn't as satisfying as the old one, when the new E actually sets up for his Taunt better than the old E set up for his taunt. I do miss the supportive aspect of E giving allies MS, but thats not an important part of his identity, so in terms of his own it it was just a wind blast with dmg that got him closer to an enemy. But the new E does a better job of getting him closer, and the new Q is a cooler version of a wind blast. Also E HAS the limitations of not going through walls and the back up delay bc OLD galio wasn't super mobile either and this is a fine way to gate his engage, bc when he doesn engage he does it HARD.

Swain is still a drain-mage, and sure he may not have on-command CC, but once he gets rolling, assassins won't be taking him down to easy, and i would NOT want to see current swain with on-command CC, he'd be even stronger once he got rolling.

And most champs even tanks, not just Galio get blown up, bc theres so much dmg in the game, thats the games issue not just Galios. However I will say, it seems Riot couldn't design whether to incentive playing him as a tank or a mage, and they pushed his mage aspect harder than his tank aspect.
