Why is Blade of the Ruined King so OP?
I've been hearing it a lot since the buffs. Is it the lifesteal, the on-hit effect?

It gives everything an ad needs. It gives life steal for in lane sustain, gives a good amount of ad, it gives attack speed, the one hit effect for tank shred, and the active to help with kiting along with a small burst of damage.
Its the early game item auto attack ADCs been look for. get a good amount of lifesteal, ad, and auto speed which is what any basic attack adc wants. While you're at
, the other build is at
.
Problem with
, is that you aren't going to do any damage if a tank or someone with
comes at you.
comes too late in the build. The %current health passive health helps to deal more damage vs tankier targets, while the other stats and the active is going to help your early game dueling.
Before it didn't have as much ad. You want some ad with attack speed :P
It's cheaper, has an early power build path and its a combination of its stats. Tons of AD, good amount of attack speed, slow active and lifesteal is probably overloaded. But ADC needed an early option. Problem is, now it's good on everyone. Black Cleaver is sort of like that. Designed to be good on bruisers, now its better on everyone. It's why Lucian builds both BC and LW.
Until Rito Gems realizes their ballance team is full of idiots who looks on game through stats and never actually play the damned thing, this will happen constantly.
We need more "ranged only" items for marksmen that can help them while not overpower other AD monsters (aka assassins, fighters).
But hey, what do I know, I'm only bronze... like members of ballance team :-D
I'd say the biggest factor is the build effectiveness. Even halfway to it you have a meaningful set of stats given. Compare that to IE and BT which each used to be staple priority items in the (far) past and there's a noticeable difference.
Is it OP, or is it just not crap like most other options?
