Well, Guess I'm Taking Bond of Stone in the Jungle Now...
I don't even know what to say about Strength of Ages being removed. Sure, raw health is powerful, but so is raw damage and we still have that. When it was revealed that one of the keystones was going to be replaced I was certain it was going to be Stormraider's Surge, but I guess that mastery gets enough play to make it worth keeping somehow.
All of these keystones that we have are designed around interaction with other players. But I honestly don't want to interact with other players, I just want to tank for days, I want to split push, I want to control objectives and I want to invade. I've spent years perfecting my macro play as much as possible accepting that my micro is shit. And for me Strength of Ages was perfect because it was simple. All you have to do is farm and you can get better items.
Strength of Ages isn't boring, as Squad5 believes. It lets you get armor or MR earlier in the game without feeling bad because you have some tankiness built into your character.
And now, if you want to be harder to kill at all times, you have one option and one option only. And it's an option for supports. Now, because I want to be harder to kill, I get to take damage from my team mates because they can't dodge skill shots or they get caught out.
Now, because my favorite champion is one of the only tanks in the game without hard CC (which is annoying enough), I can't even use the replacement. Because giving the shield a high cooldown and letting it function off slows would be too generalist, I guess.
Oh well, at least I got some nice buffs to my champion. Then they immediately turn around and nerf his health gain knowing full well they're going to be removing 300 health from him in a few weeks.
