Ekko is the best duelist in the game as well as a great teamfighter.

Note: I have not been stomped by an Ekko, ever. I'm simply noting some facts.

  1. Ekko is the best duelist because his ult makes it so that if a fight lasts over 4 seconds (very common with duelist assassins, bruisers and melee carries like MasterYi Jax Tryndamere Zed Fiora PantheonVayne ) he can regain his HP and nuke you for 1.3 AP + 500 base. None of the duelists I wrote up there can handle a heal + that much damage; they can handle one or the other, but not both. He also has an execute better than Pantheon's crit because his execute starts at 30% HP and Pantheon's starts at 15%.

  2. Ekko is also a great teamfighter because he can zone off an entire lane with a massive stun, zone off entrances to the lane with Q, and thus basically either deny a push or funnel the enemies into a single chokepoint. And if they don't respect his zoning? His team aces them just like if they got caught in 2 Amumu ults at once.

Ekko is the typical example of a champion that was designed with only laning phase 1v1 in mind, not realizing that his lack of reliability is irrelevant in a teamfight with their huge AOEs that allied stuns can set up. Ekko can be feeding 0-10 and still carry a teamfight with his utility/zoning, and building full tank, or he can deal massive damage while ahead. This is an example of a champ whose designer clearly did not think about how ridiculous his teamfighting would be and who forgot league is a 5v5 game, and 5v5s are not simply 5 sets of 1v1s.

Why are you standing in Ekko's convergence? Is 3 seconds not enough time to side step?

You are aware that you can't see it until it has 0.5 seconds to pop, right?

IMO the W needs more visibility time for the enemy team.

He leaves an image when he casts it and there's an audio cue. You can't see where he cast it, but you see that the 3 second countdown has started. Run in any direction and you have a 3/4 chance of avoiding it.

So what you're saying is that your ability to dodge Ekko's W is entirely based on luck?

Furthermore, getting out of the way is more difficult than it sounds when he has several means of slowing you at his disposal.

His kit is both incredibly versatile as well as overturned. He's overpowered, lol. There is no champ in the game that offers as much utility as well as raw damage as Ekko.

If he's in range to slow you and drops his W before engaging, you have 3 seconds to kill him. What are you playing that you can't kill a glass cannon in 3 seconds?

Either way, you have a 75% chance of avoiding it by moving in literally any direction as an immobile champion. If you have mobility, it cannot land unless you're already stunned. I don't know why Riot even lets Bronze players post here.

He's not actually all that fragile though, between his fairly high bases for an assassin and his shield. Next time I try fighting him with Darius, I'll try my usual 21/9/0 masteries to see if that makes a difference, but honestly? For a champion that is "squishy", it sure is hard to pop him. Teemo is squishy. I can kill Teemo as Darius with 9/21/0 masteries without even needing ignite, and have done so. We needed some tankiness, so I decided to alter my masteries to suit the team. I'll see if offensive masteries work better if I get the chance to lane against an Ekko top again as Darius again.

Right, so it's luck-based if you're immobile.

Ah yes, this is the part where you flaunt your micropenis by insulting my rank. Or at least what you believe to be my rank, since I'm not actually in Bronze. Not that it would matter if I was.

I'm aware that you're not smart enough to discuss anything logically, but you should probably refrain from committing ad hominems or appeals to authority.

then he gets free hits on you with his massive damage if you are melee and cast it on top of yourself. he also gets a get out of jail card + huge nuke on his R. If you can't kill him in 4 seconds you can't kill him at all; GL killing bruiser Ekko in 4 seconds or even assassin Ekko with Zhonya's.

Thats assuming you are fighitng him in one spot for 4 seconds and his clone gets back. Ekko is easy to kill in 4 seconds.

Or you are chasing him and following his shadow and he pops back to it. Just another thing to learn not to do.

No. You have never been assasinated by jax in your whole life. When he duels you that is over in 2.5 seconds tops. How long is his stun? I dont know. I am usually dead by the time i am unstunned. Fed jax would annihilate ekko. unless stupid enough to get caught by stun and ulti and e

BluePolarizer1 votes

I've never been assassinated by Jax because he doesn't kill people in 2.5 seconds if you aren't super squishy, and Ekko is not super squishy. All Ekko has to do is W on top of himself when Jax jumps in and Jax can't do anything.

Also you clearly don't know how Jax E works so I'll just stop here. It doesn't stop application of on-hit effects; see Jax E vs. Nasus Q.

Ekko is pretty squishy. Unless he gets his sheild. And to get that sheild he needs to cast and have 3 seconds before the bubble pops up. More then enough time to deal with him.

Woook3r1 votes

Jax can dodge through ekko's e. It wouldnt even HIT hiim.

Woook3r1 votes

Ekkos W takes three seconds to proc. Jax takes less that that amount of time to come in and kill him. how does the shield benifit ekko after ekko has died to jax?

Akali is SO HOT1 votes

Jax is the best duelist in the game. Unless Riot specifically makes a champ built to somehow outduel Jax then he will always be the best late game duelist.

Jax's late game is very strong, but IMHO sort of overrated. Sort of like Poopy's. I feel like Nasus for example shits on Jax's hopes and dreams 1v1. Just the nature of their kits.

BluePolarizer1 votes

Poppy is not overrated late game. She truly is a 1v5 terror.

Jax can't beat Nasus, Safe Vayne or Tryndamere late game, and its a skill matchup between Jax vs. Yi (all depends on how well Yi can kite around Jax's E).

I'll just take your word for it, but I've never seen it. I've been in a game where both Master Yi and Poopy were fed (Yi admittedly more so), and I was far more terrified of Master Yi (to the extent that I tailored my entire build as Darius toward killing him as quickly as possible, thank God he built no armour or health).

I may have admittedly never seen a late game Poopy.

I've seen Jax late game though and found him honestly sort of underwhelming. Then again that Jax built a frozen mallet and IIRC had no BotRK, so he might have been bad? I don't know.

I've been on the receiving end of a 1v5 poppy before, and been on the team of a 1v5 poppy before.

She gets so much free tankiness from her passive, ult and W that she can build full damage and wreck. She also gets ridiculous amounts of free damage from her Q.
