Who in the world actually thinks malzahar has a "healthy" design?

I mean his entire kit is based around not letting the opponent PLAY THE GAME. I mean His passive stops your spells and damage, His Q prevents you from casting spells, His Voidlings prevent you from hitting him with skillshots (because they commonly block them) and his E in conjunction with W is a perma slow that makes it so you can't chase or run because of item 3116 , And well, his ult stops you from doing everything. Edit: for clarity, I like playing as Malz but its not fun to play against

hes gotten easier to play against after his rework, his rework made him shittier and all your reason are just you bitching and can be avoided, you juyst suck as at hitting skill shots and his passive is a yas shield and his e is what makes him more unique

Wait wait, so if im ezreal and there are voidlings in between me and malzahar My Q can suddenly penetrate through his voidlings and still hit him? I guess I just suck at hitting skill shots after all.

its called you move to a side as ezreal with e and then q him, also this is my smurf i have mained malzahar all season so your logic is useless

I mean its not like they don't multiply and follow their target where ever they go, just because you can blow your E cooldown to throw a single skill shot (that malz can dodge) to possibly break his passive if he didn't dodge it, before his voidling are all back sitting on top of your ass running you down to absorb any follow up Q's.......But, WOW, most players hit level 30 before they decide to make a smurf

Yeah but His passive isn't a yas shield, because it prevents him from being CC'D. But just so you know, I personally enjoy playing him, I enjoy playing him but I still think he has a poor design to play against, and perhaps why you think he's not as good as before is because you are level 21.

At least everything he has is delayed, meaning you/a teammate can stop him.

Meanwhile Annie stun-1shot you instantly

(I dont really think annie has much counter play and isn't well designed in that respect) but to be fair she can actually get caught out and blow up herself. Where as Malz basically cant get blown up. I mean If you have a Malphite on your team he can ult the annie and you guys can kill her while shes up in the air. But Malz just negates that from ever happening in the first place

his passive only lasts .25 seconds and is usually gone before a fight anyway.

Mage bias baby, welcome to gameplay and balance

Ok so that's his design, you can't play the game. That a problem? If you want this changed ur asking for a rework

God Raijin1 votes

well yeah, look Im not saying he's "OP" Im not saying his numbers are too high, Im just saying its a badly designed kit. because the Idea of "I get to play the game and you don't" isnt good imo

But lt Was Me1 votes

He is a twisted version of what Riot thought Malzahar was six years after he was made. -_-''

At this point, I'd rather they just rework Malz entirely instead of keeping the old Malz I loved half alive.

I keep hoping I'd feel what I once did every time I play Malz. but I'm always disappointed.

He needs to be killed off like old poppy and sion so pre-update Malz mains can be forced to move on with their lives @_@ and stop hoping.

His passive: Auto Attack him then hit him with a spell. YOU DEFEATED!

His Q: Dodge it.... YOU DEFEATED!

His W (Voidlings): Kill the first one that spawns before it kills a minion. YOU DEFEATED!

His E: Run away from him. YOU RAN AWAY!

His R: QSS or have a teammate CC him, hell if you cast any CC that has a travel time at all you can cancel it yourself. YOU DEFEATED!

In my personal opinion, Malzahar is worse than he was before. Sure before the nerfs he was OP, but now he is a boring farming pushing suppress bot with no real depth to him. He is fairly easy to deal with if you understand how he works, for the most part though you don't need to worry about him because he will most likely push you under turret than sit under his. That will go on for about 20-30 minutes.

Yeah but every single thing you listed is some magical "Ideal scenario" obviously you aren't going to dodge Every Q unless the malz you are playing against is a scrub. You aren't going to kill his first voidling if he summons it to attack one of your creeps when it's at 1 hp

Yeah you can Qss his ult but that's a pretty big hit to your $ /build path if you aren't the ADC.

Stephenizgod1 votes

Ok but that is the same for every single champion in the game, it doesn't make it any less viable. Those are not "ideal scenario"s, those are counterplays. You should be doing those against him, if you are not then it explains why you think he is so OP. Yea you won't dodge every Q but you can dodge most of them, its the same as dodging any skillshot in the game. Do you just stand still when you fight Vel'koz because its just not ideal to dodge every one of his spells? No... You can and should kill his first Voidling, they are only strong when there are about 3 or more. If he summons it when a minion is at 1hp, just kill the two Voidlings. They are not that hard to kill to be honest, from my experience a Syndra can just E+Q and kill all of his voidlings.

Qss is 1300 gold, for only 1300 gold you can counter Malzahar. That seems completely worth it if you ask me, not only does it force him to ult someone he didn't want to ult, but it also helps you against any other CC his team has. You can either complain that Malzahar's ult has no counterplay and is broken OP, or you can complain that you had to spend 1300 gold to make him almost useless against you. Your pick i guess.

Ive said MANY of times in this thread, I dont think hes OP i think he **unhealthy. ** Here's the difference OP literally mean overpowered, unhealthy in the context of this game can typically be linked to having a negative experience or possible frustration to play against something. Look its like when they changed Illaoi's E and how it used to spawn tentacles until you killed 3 of them before it would wear off. Yeah It wasn't broken, it was just very tedious and annoying to be forced to play a damn mini game every time you get hit by it. THAT is UNHEALTHY but not necessarily OP.
