The biggest problem with new Mordekaiser

Your team will not accept your pick 80% of the time.

Your team is almost guaranted to rage at you at first before finally relenting, but even then...

Your team will very rarely decide to take an ADC somewhere outside of Bot.

Even if your team agrees, your Support might pick an Utility Support like Soraka or Sona, who wont be able to sit on the enemy for W's damage and will be lacking in actual CC, which Mord will need to do his job decently.

That is the biggest issue. Mordekaiser is going to be even more of a gimmick champion than currently, and playing him without a duo is going to be almost impossible. I am not even talking about the tweaks like his base stats nerf or E's damage nerf. I am not talking about the fact they completely removed any sign of metal in his VFX. I am talking about a big ass issue that Mordekaiser players will have to endure if they want to play this champion in yolo-que.

Unless he ends up being ridiculously broken, nobody will want an immobile melee going bot while their Ashe is getting dived by a Fizz mid-lane.

just a matter of time to get people adjusted to the thought imo.

if they make a champion spotlight for him, and imo theyll HAVE to to avoid exactly what you talked about, it should help.

I am sure we will get used to playing Mord ADC in a short period of time. The issue is more along the lines of not being able to get the damage loaded Q off. If he does not then he does minimal damage. He was placed into a lane where his defenses and MS were nerfed, even though he is going to need those the most in bot lane. It just makes no sense. Iv played him on the PBE but it just didnt feel like I was useful. If your enemy bot lane is even somewhat competent, you will not be able to do too much unfortunately :/

Unless he ends up being ridiculously broken...

Have you seen his numbers? His E got gutted like a fish, but the damage and healing on his W is now very significant and everyone already knows that Morde can blow up a squishy with his Q in 1-2 hits (one being the third hit). Between the healing on his W and his shield that no longer decays below 1/4, he's actually very difficult to push out of lane. Think of him as a Yorick without mana restraints.

And even though E is no longer his primary damage spell, it's CD is low enough that you can farm minions with it outside of melee range on a semi-consistent basis. Add that to the fact that he'll be getting level 6 ahead of his lane opponents, and Morde can actually farm passively and survive until he's ahead then be ready to all-in at that time.

The playstyle that seems to be developing is: 1-5: Play safe, farm. 6: All-in opponents to either kill them for force them to back. Take Dragon while they're gone, kill bot lane tower with ghost even if the enemy laners are both there. 6+: Murder anything stupid enough to let you get close to them. (Thank you item 3742) If an ally cc's someone for you and you waddle up to them, they're dead. Thanks for playing.

The major problem I see here is that the live balance team will tone down his early sustain and mid-game damage for being too oppressive. Once that happens, and Morde loses his ability to lane safely and delete people with one item, he'll have nothing going for him that an actual marksman can't do better and/or safer.
