There's a huge difference between Silver and Bronze

People tend to jump to conclusions and assume that both elos are practically the same; and in some ways, they are. but as someone who's played in elos ranging from Low Bronze to High Silver, There's a huge improvement in players in silver.

  • In Bronze, People tend to blame their team more. People in bronze care less about ranked, they play really carelessly. Mostly because they have nothing to lose. A Majority of the people in this ELO are people who've flopped their Placements and haven't been able to climb.

  • In Silver, There's definitely a huge range of different types of players. There are definitely many players in silver who were placed in silver because they got lucky in their placements. all in all, silver just has players who genuinely want to climb. For example, you're less likely to see first-time players in silver (by this i mean, players who are playing x champion for the first time in ranked).

And honestly, although both elos suck, bronzies are more likely to stay bronze, whilst silvers are more likely to rank up, and I feel like this is purely because of the attitude that players have in both elos.

  • Sincerely, a fellow goldie who's smurfed in both bronze and silver for the past 2 seasons :3

But people say the same thing about gold too xD and then diamonds say the same thing just about for plat...... Etc lol, theres always benefits, but there is also major draw backs to each rank.

I always had a way I used to explain different tiers of players and it goes something like this.

Bronze - Whole team is garbage and they can't carry all these complete idiots.

Silver - Lost because they enemy is using op ass perma banned champs and it's X's fault for not banning them.

Gold - better than you and they know it, now watch them cop a holier than though attitude.

Platinum - Will point out what you're doing wrong and tell you why it's wrong and what you should be doing all while berating you about how bad you are.

Diamond - Usually won't start shit but if you so much as step out of line they'll harp on you for your rank and if they lose a blind pick game or draft pick it's because "It's only normals lol, get good."

in truth tho.. if u have not played at about plat 3+ you have no played the "real" game... basically if in any match u see people going 0/3/0 before 10 mins mark and keep pinging and flaming about no jg help or shit.. u have not played the game.. the game is NOT about getting 2 billion kills.. is about OBJECTIVE and CONTROL... anyone in any server any tier want to 1v1 ppl repeatedly and kill kill kill above all else.. is not playing the game for WIN... o we got 3/4 of their team including jg.. lets go baron/push mid inhib/win.... (NAW im chasing the last 1/2 member of theirs man, killing man..im good...) even at plat 3 + occasionally people do this too.. but considerably much less.. cos they play to win..

You do know even Challengers can rage, tilt or troll, right? There have been cases of great players being suspended over their attitude and trolling. Someone's attitude isn't really a rank thing, it's a personality thing.

While it would seem he'd changed, but sadly the damage's already long done.

at the end i did say even high elo ppl occasionally does this, but less chance? still, let me clarify on that, i mean people going say.. nasus vs xin zhao, ori vs yasuo and stuff, basically picking a late game champ vs early game champ and 1v1 them early game and lose and then start flaming. what i mean is up to plat, ppl have at least some ideas what would be the outcome and therefore less chance that a late game champ going 0/3/0 against an early game champ but start to blame others and rage quit. all and all WHEN people start to realise OBJECTIVE and CONTROL plays a much larger role in winning than KILLs is when the game is play.. strategy..

there was this time im duo-ing with a girl trying to get her to plat, so playing at gold ish level, my team pick galio, zed, amumu(frd), malphite, vayne (me), enemy pick darius, zilean, lee sin, sona, caitlyn.. just by looking at the team comp u know we will lose early.. and thats exactly what happens early, ofc with me being highest cs and 1/0/1 while team losing like 2:12, and my team all start to blaming the jungler (which is a girl) and i just tell her to ignore them and get lv 6, while comforting my sup (malphite, assume its a girl too, judging by the playstyle) we'll be fine, and put some wards while hes at 0/2/0., and at the end we won of course, while everyone else is at negative kda im 19/2/1X or something, which should be reasonable considering the team comp and stuff, then we'd win after some time into late game.. which i think is a classic example for why i say the cut off point is at about plat 3 (actually knowing HOW to win/ and being able to anticipate the outcome), and just flaming without knowing that its an obvious stupid idea to go 1v1 early game champ with late champ, then flame others and quit.. and trust me.. this happen a lot more under plat 3 ish..

I'm bronze, but I've only played for like a year. This is my first season. I don't put a lot of personal value into rank, but I do want to be better at game in general. The champs are fairly diverse and interesting. I know o have plenty of mechanical gaps to learn on.

Where do I fit in your ideology

LunarStrike1 votes

The best tip I can give you is find a main. Champs in league are really mechanical; the more practice you do on a single champ, the better you get at it. For example, i got to gold with Diana. She's not OP, but im good with her because i have over 400k mastery points on her. once youve found a main, and you're fairly certain you've mastered them, spam them in ranked. don't be afraid of ranked, if u dont try it, u wont ever climb!

just always focus on yourself, never your team. You'll get games where your team will be horrible, but those who focus on making a comeback instead of flaming will find it a lot easier to climb.

also, one more thing, dont be careless with ranked. as in, dont play champs for first time, or champs you're unexperienced with. by that, i literally mean even if you have lvl 7 on a champ, dont play it if you know you can do better with another pick.

When i got to silver i saw more trolls and rage/afk then in bronze. was was very disappointed, with people saying once you get out of bronze it gets better

The reason people call Silver and Bronze the same is because Riot drops New Players in S3 and so for over half the the bracket you have literally B5 players.

It screws all true silver players because you dont know if the Silver player on your team is right for the elo or if they are less then a BOT. Even Match history can be deceiving because they could be getting boosted by a Silver-gold friend or just been lucky and carried to stay in Silver.

Riot does this on purpose to make most players struggle in ranked. Video game theory is about making players WANT to pull a leaver (play ranked) even when they are not having fun and to make them pull it for a long as possible. If Ranked was too ez then people would leave from boredom. Make it too hard and they quit. But keeping them in Silver is part of making them struggle but feel hopeful to get out but then not let them. Making them pull the leaver when even tho it is not fun.
