Most ranked games "end" at 10min.

I understand Riot wanted to push the length of the game mode to go from 30-50min games to 20-30min games but as a result many games both in Ranked and on the competitive Esports scene are now being decided within the first 10 minutes of the game.

It was interesting to see past year games with teams having a fighting chance even when down on kills/towers but now you can look of the state of a match at the 10min mark and pretty consistently guess which team is going to win/lose.

If anything, I would like to see more comeback potential in the game.

The only thing worse than a game lasting a long time, is waiting 10min for the losing team to lose.

I highly agree with this. Last year's Worlds was probably the shortest Worlds there ever was, all because of one good early game kill. Games that extend 30 min is usually the losing team getting objectives only to defend for another 10 min.

Just had a game where the enemy almost cameback!

Because our ADC was afk for 5 minutes

Bot lane: "enemy double kill!"

well ok I guess I didnt want to play anyway

i don't entirely agree though. yeah some games are decided at the 10min mark but i've had around 4-5 crazy comebacks past week. I had no hope for winning anymore and tried to surrender but we managed to win somehow by smashing lategame and getting baron&elder

sometimes the enemy gets too cocky and start throwing without them realizing it

honestly sometimes 10 minutes is an understatement

this "game ends at 10:00" only happens at NA server cuz people are impatient and want to play for fun so they only care about the early game, else they just FF 15 or 20 or quit. I had a lot of comebacks, and a lot of enemies comebacks as well because I insisted in not FF. Do you know why your games are decided at 10 min? Cuz you are impatient.

I'm not saying the game has a good matchmaking or that the game is fair. The game is terrible in many aspects. But this "early game blabla" thing is only because people in this server like to FF a lot, and feel entitled to infinite ganks. If they die once, they don't wait and farm tower, they continue dying. Even if their comp is better for late game, they Make sure that they lose, just to be right

https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/infographics useful link, check out the loss rate when you lose first inhib, it's usually around 90%

They really just need to reduce income for getting ahead in the early game, so comebacks are actually possible without a massive throw by the enemy team.

The advantage obtained by hitting level 6 and completing your first item earlier than your opponent is usually game breaking.

I feel like most games shouldn't be decided that early but are because people give up. Bot lane getting a double kill early does not mean it's over, but people act like it is which leads to players giving up and never being able to catch up.

because of continuous champ power creep, "first item" overtly too powerful (item 3071 item 3508 item 3285 item 3078 all have 20% cdr, meaning you get stronger AND GET STRONGERER) and then you have stuff like turret plate added to continuously accelerate people who already get the benefit of BEING UP IN XP AND GOLD because you died/had to recall.

**Previously, playing well was it's own advantage: you kill somebody, they are no longer on the map. **

i agree about this sometimes, the coinflip effect is very saddening sometimes, your teamates afk before you can even encourage them to come back from playing because the enemy jungler camped their lane haha, then u just take the loss. But the games where u come back from the brink of defeat and overcome coinflip are beyond satisfying and enough to counter the depression of the coinflip effect.

Their solution to comeback potential was Tower Plating. They nerfed inner turrets previously and then the compensation did make outer towers very durable, but its temporary and it promotes just stacking botlane more than usual to break all the plates for an extra 400 Gold from the plates and the 150 Gold from first turret.

As a result midgame champions are able to lane enough to scale, but lategame champions often aren't able to and early game champions essentially got buffed to hell from all the gold inflation early.
