Is anyone else just incredibly tired of seeing Graves
like holy shit people, play something else.
like holy shit people, play something else.
Yorick kind of has a crush on him. He digs Graves.
I wish he'd dig a grave for that joke. Not really funny anymore.
I laugh every time.
Yorick walks into a bar. There is no counter.
Vi opens a bar. She only sells punch.
Lee Sin walks into a bar. He says "Damnit, not again."
Renekton is forced to close his pub. There is no more Renekton Bar.
I see nothing wrong here.
MORE Graves less
... and all will be right in the world!
This season is so incredibly stagnant. Its boring to play, boring to watch.
It's just that he is really straightforward kind of champ, really easy to use with a simple kit. I feel like he's the Jack of All Trades ADC: good damage, dash, good laning, good teamfighting.
yea, that's the best way to describe him.

We truly came from a long long road if we've reached the point where Graves is considered a "jack-of-all-trades"

Which champion this title fits better to in your opinion?
Which champion this title fits better to in your opinion?
On the top of my head? No idea. I'm just saying this because when Graves came out, one of his selling points was exactly how "niche" he was. A short-ranged ADC with huge burst, just a short bit of mobility and a conditional steroid. He was supposed to sacrifice DPS and safety distance for burst. And if our 2012 niche has become the 2015 jack-of-all-trades... 'tis weird, it's all I'm saying...
But if I had to think about it...
Hecarim - Has tankiness, a big burst of mobility, constant DPS, healing, staying power and displacing CC (Terrify)
Lee Sin - He can fit about every comp exactly because how good he is at everything. Depending on the balance state of the game, "master of none" may not mandatorily follow Lee Sin after "jack of all trades"
Elise - Again, just about everything one would need without being particularly good at anything.
at least its better than this
Amen
I personally don't mind Graves, his short range usually puts him in CC range if he wants to get max damage from his Q.
I'm more sick of seeing Jinx, tbh. I haven't really had an issue with Graves.
Jinx is overloaded as fuck for an ADC and the complaint of 'but muh lack of mobility' is disregarded when her passive makes her run around like she's on crack.
Graves has strong mid-range AOE damage, along with some innate tankiness.
He DOESN'T have an execute that can be shot across the map, he DOESN'T have any CC outside of his weak smokescreen slow (which is always maxed last), he DOESN'T have Caitlyn range at the press of a button, only for 20 mana a pop all game.
Give me Graves any day over seeing fucking Jinx picks all the time.
Uh, don't get killed?
Kite her to death? (Her long ranged attacks cost mana and are slow as fuck)
Literally put any CC on her?
Play any champion with a dash? (
hey Jinx, has anyone ever told you you have a really punchable looking face? Like I just wanna pinch your cheeks together with my knuckles.)
Uh, don't get killed?
Shit good advice man, with that I could go pro.
umm its not even half way through season 5 and you are tired of him? LOL i cant imagine your face on season 4 lucian and corki

excuse me
Bot lane is really just monotonous as a whole. I mean look at the play rates:
Graves: 34.56% Jinx: 30.52% Thresh: 29.77% Leona: 28.52% Morgana: 28.1% Blitzcrank: 23.45% Caitlyn: 20.81%
I feel like the reason everything in bot lane is so concentrated is because a lot of the time bot lane players don't actually specialise in their role, so they pick "kill lane" picks because they're quite easy to do well with. Graves's kit isn't particularly nuanced, Jinx is easy enough, Caitlyn is very "kid's first ADC" due to her easy laning and the "flash or die" supports don't really need you to learn anything other than how to hit a straight line skillshot.
If you're not an ADC specialist then you really shouldn't be trying a difficult ADC when you're forced into that role. Powerful but straight-forward ADCs therefore rule and Graves, Jinx, Cait fit that. If you don't main support then you should similarly pick a support whose job is quite easy to do. Blitz just needs to hit a hook and he's succeeded, people perceive Thresh as having nothing to do but hit a hook and people view Leona in the same way (I swear half the games Leona is in their player will literally hit every hook they possibly can, even if it involves a tower dive with 0 kill potential). In contrast even a "skilless" poke support like Sona can be a dumb pick, because with a support like that winning lane involves a ton of smaller interactions. The less events you need to win a lane the better and a Blitz landing one hook a minute is a lot easier than a Sona poking many times while trying to reduce the poke she's taking over the same amount of time.
tl;dr: Bot lane is so centred on only a few ADCs/supports because the chosen ones have high potential for the smallest amount of time spent interacting with the opponent and when you don't main a role that's exactly what you should be aiming for in solo q. The less chances for you to mess up, the better. The second a kill lane ADC/support becomes even the slightest bit overtuned their play rate shyrockets to game-warping levels and that is why 7 out of the top 10 most popular champions are primary bot laners (left out Annie because she mids a lot, much more than Morg).

Also, these "kill lanes" are forgiving. You can be losing by 30 cs but land a hook/tibbers/zenith blade/whatever into jinx traps/Graves combo and you get a kill regardless of how far behind you are, esp in lower elos. Whats the point in playing Lucian/Sona and poking people 500 times to kill them, winning by 30-40 cs, only for that guy to land zenith blade out of 100 and graves/jinx kills/cc/kills you anyways?
I think bot lane is more stagnant than it has been in a long time. You cant play any immobile adcs besides jinx, or you are just screwing yourself. You can win, but its going to be 500x harder than just playing graves/jinx with leona/thresh/blitz/annie/morg. Next you can play Cait and Trist for safety/pushing. But thats about it if you actually care about winning consistently.
Im more sick of sivir and jinx. I dont mind graves
im tired of the complaining graves is actually balanced he has to get close to melee range to do his burst so either use somebody who has a spell shield or get a support who can cc him to death its not hard to counterplay him especially with the other strong adcs there's a reason more players play corki, kallista, and sivir
Meanwhile Corki being the top pick at worlds'.
Every worlds'.
First Lucian, now Graves. People like bursty, snowbally adcs for solo queue. He also synergyzes well with all the tank supps which are popular as well. Graves is fun and good atm, or should all adcs play immobile turrets ala jinx or slippy pokers like Ez? Plus he's easy, so non-adc mains can pick him when they get forced bot.
Just wait until Graves is nerfed for no reason and then Jinx is the only ADC played in bot lane.
Eventually every adc will get nerfed and only the "Fortunate" will remain among the Ashes.
I'll see myself out.
This is why people like Lee Sin don't get nerfed.
"RIOT NERF LEE HE CROWDS OUT EVERYTHING ELSE" Riot browses forums. Hm, people that are boring to watch people are sick of. Lee isn't boring to watch! Proceeds to nerf boring to watch champions
Obviously an oversimplifcation.
I actually like this season more than the last one. It's not just Lucian and Tristana all of the time.
I am more sick of
. They are almost always salty.
You belong in a museum!
Shhhhhhhhhhut your pie hole. You can have a 500 range carry with no cc one dash and some burst, or you can have:
Jinx: 120% as steroid passive, AOE crits, global AOE Garen ult, huge AOE hard cc on a basic skill
Tristiana: infinite resetting jump with twice the range of riftwalk, point and click knockback, ginormous death steroid and half the screen range
Vayne: dash, point and click knockback stun, invisibility, %HP true damage
Kallista: Infinite Manaless dashes, point and click uber-slow burst, AOE 2 second knockup
Jesus Christ man Graves is the MASSIVELY lesser evil here are you trying to kill us all?
I think ADC diversity is really good right now! Just the last couple days I've seen Jinx, Graves, Corki, Kalista, Sivir, Caitlyn, Draven, and Ezreal. I'm not high diamond or anything, and obviously balance isn't perfect (Quinn, Ashe, Vayne), but I'm pretty happy with that spread.
This is not fair at all..in season 3 i got flamed for picking him...now everyones sick and tired of him??? THAT IS BULLSHIT
I feel this exact same way about Jinx. When can I get to see the Sivirs, Kalistas (wait jk), Quinns, Urgots, and Twitches :C
Graves, and about ten other people. I don't know what previous seasons were like, since I'm relatively new, but in its current state, you could easily play this game for years and never realize it has 100+ champions.
Of course, it would help if you didn't get punished/ostracized for selecting off-broadway champions. Try finding a game in team builder while playing Urgot or Azir or any of the multitude of "less than" champions, and it's pretty easy to see why people just keep selecting Jinx and Darius.
Darius is not a good champion and you will stop seeing him picked after you reach the MMR where ADC's can effectively kite.
Nope. He one of my most fav adc to work with as a support. I like how he some what more tank then a normal adc.
That's what happens when you nerf all the other ADCs.
I am more tired of Lee sin and zed and LeBlanc being picked or banned fairly frequently
Okay then I'll just play Urgot and have people bitch at me why I'm playing trash tier champs.
Jinx is also really common. Highest win rate ADC and I think the most popular one?
Varus, Twitch, Miss Fortune, and Kog'Maw are also really uncommon. I main Miss Fortune I guess would be appropriate to say, but I feel like I'm the only one who ever plays her besides a few here and there.
Thing is Twitch and Kog'Maw are really strong. They both just require alot of team cordination and a good comp around them.
Specifically Kog'Maw. There is a reason "Protect the Kog" has always been a viable strategy competitively.
I don't care who is popular right now as long as it's not
. He was op for 8 months until they gutted him.
He didn't get gutted. Elise is a good example of "gutted" Black Yasuo is a good example of re-balanced.
