I've been told it is by teammates who want ganks, but I don't think it is? Isn't it better than tryingto force a gank and dying to it? I'm a pretty bad jungler so that happens a lot of the time. I'd prefer to not feed and be useful mid to late game.
RenownedWheat423 votesGotta find a healthy balance. Can't gank if your team doesn't provide a single good opportunity, so instead of wasting time beside a lane you can't effectively gank, just clear your camps.
On the flipside, if your top laner is pushed in and the enemy laner is at like 50% HP or something, and you can easily get in but choose not to, that's throwing away a chance for a lead.
Takes a lot of reading the map. Don't listen to people on your team if they're just complaining, try to read the situation and discern what the best course of action is.
LilxPaprika1 votesdepends on their engage (from their kits), or how much the enemy is over extending and whether they have strong outs. also jungle item until completed puts you at a deficit vs lane champions early game, though a counter gank can prove very effective.
Kai Guy1 votesNo. It is on some champions whos kits are very rewarding for early ganks. Not every jungler how ever does that and you cant make impact early in every game. Some times its nessesary to grind to your power spike. Communicate, let teammates know they need to play safe cuz your aiming for an EXP spike 
Or an item spike 
. If your lanes are winning you can make some extra $ hitting them... but if they are losing you might stand to get 0 gain from a gank when your not a solid early impact jungler and your laner is in a awfull matchup.
Your job is to do what ever is needed to win. Some times that job is to farm fucking exp and gold.
