If Riot did a good job Shyv wouldn't consistently have shit win rates like 43% on the servers that matter (NA, EU, Korea): http://champion.gg/champion/Shyvana/Top
It is a good job because they made a change to a champion that did not make her overpowered, and did not make her useless. After seeing the top build for Shyvana it's no wonder why her win rate is so low. It only has one offensive item in it. My build contains four offensive items and two defensive, allowing me to actually serve in my role as either a jungler or top laner and actually deal damage while still being tanky enough to survive. My build is -
for AOE damage, lifesteal, and regen.
for damage, lifesteal, and shield.
for attack speed, (aids in Q damage output,) movement through units so i don't get stuck behind minions, movement speed, and crit chance which can turn Shyvana's X2 damage Q to a X4 damage Q.
Attack speed and cooldown reduction which both aid Shyvana's Q, damage, movement speed, and tenacity.
magic damage per second stacks well with burnout, Armor, Health.
for Magic Resist, Health, and boosted lifesteal and regen. With this build I win about 4 out of 5 games in either top or jungle. So I do believe that the reason Shyvana is only at 43% win rate is because people are simply not building her right. There is also a fact that you are forgetting. Even if a Shyvana has over 20 kills and only 3 deaths, she can still lose the match if her team sucks. This has happened to me, thus the example given. A champion's win rate is very heavily dependent upon their team mates performance, and can go up or down despite any buffs, nerfs, builds, and or skill of the person playing that champion. All because of the players the and their chosen champion and the skill of those players. So yes Riot did do a good job even if you believe with all your heart and soul that they hadn't.
