Mages in 2K17
So there was a time we all had our special AP item known as the legendary Deathfire's Grasp. So lets take a moment of silence for that item. RIP DFG.
Now that Riot seems to be putting effort in ADCs, and answering to the popular meme "ADC IN 2K17" , they have done not a bad job at putting adcs right back in action. But that leaves me to this sorrow that I feel Riot just simply hates AP champions...
Yes yes...
is annoying...
is cancer... yada yada, whatever. I get it. There are some strong AP champions that have heavy base AP damage.
is a good example for that. But there are still plenty of AP champions that rely heavily on AP, and I feel somewhat overwhelmed that against champions like
.. They get an AMAZING anti mage item that basically makes them completely immune to being one shotted early, and that is the legendary
, that gives them not just 35 magic resist, but a very nice shield as well.
What do we mages get to counter that? Literally just a
.. An item that is literally a complete item, that costs 2900 gold, compared to that cost of a
which is much less than a
, and what the heck do we get out of it? 70 AP, 50 armor and 10% CDR.
Now lemme get this straight... An AD champion can just easily buy a
, and boom, my 50 Armor would barely affect their damage on me. And what do I get to counter their hexdrinker? Just
..
This makes me wonder. Where are mages? There use to be a time where
use to have 120 AP. Now its brought down to just 70!!!! and there were other items than the massively priced 3800 gold worth
that actually offered more than 100 AP. But all I see riot do is nerf and nerf and nerf AP items, and buff and buff and more buff AD items. Its like they totally favour AD than AP.
So explain to me people. WHERE DO YOU THINK MAGES ARE IN 2K17?
Please exclude the following champions from my list as they have very high base damage/damage amplifiers , or simply do other damage than just AP-

and
to magic resist. If you're talking about early game, pick up Guise and Sorc boots, and Hexdrinker doesn't do much.
