Help with the new Runes?

I am going to be straightforward: this update has me scratching my head. I have no clue what runes are good on what champions, how to play against certain champions with certain runes, or anything. I just feel so lost when I play this game anymore, and it's reflected in my play. I feel worse, play worse, and altogether am having much less fun. The old runes made sense, but these new runes have added a level of complexity I did not foresee, and I don't know how to play this game with the changes.
