I don't understand why his ultimate has such a long cooldown, it's not even that strong early.
In terms of damage and tankiness, he's average or above average. Lategame, he gets popped instantly by ADCs.
If I want to play a strong splitpusher I'd pick Fiora, Riven or Tryndamere.

like most of the other juggs, the tank update took a huge dump on him.
in principle hes an early game champion who wins a good number of matchups and then snowballs off that advantage by rolling over the enemy turret very early on for turret first blood gold on top of the gold for a kill on the enemy laner.
hes one of the champions who can fight darius early on for example.
his ult actually deals a decent amount of damage. the major portion comes from the % max health magic damage procs when youre attacking the same target as the maiden.
but overall marksmen are way too strong right now and defensive itemization is way too inffective for juggs to stay relevant. in addition, a lot of meta top lane picks right now are difficult to deal with for him.
yorick ult is deadly, it turns the lane into 2v1.
The trick is trapping them correctly in W
a trick i use to do is start a losing fight
E W them point plank as they are to busy autoing walk back a bit to be just out of the range of their autos
R
the E mark will still be applies so they will insta aggro, the laner will either have to flash or focus the wall, its free damage and you can aggro him right after if you're not to low

He's a terrible champion, but he's pretty lovable. Him and Garen are probably the worst 2 juggernauts atm
Even Sirchez who loves bad champs thinks he's too bad to play and stopped playing him.
I'd say, Yorick isn't a good split pusher, he's a good turret taker. I farm safely, spawning ghosts and throwing them at my lane opponent otherwise pushing the wave into their tower. Use Maiden as defensive if people engage and if you win the trade at 6 or more (kill or push laner to base), take the tower. Then go take another lanes tower, don't split push. Sheen is a must, preferably into Trinity, I rarely go Iceborn. Max Q, W, E
Although I do feel he needs a buff to his Q heal and R cooldown, just slightly.
