Don't deny it, we all know some champions get more love than others. I'm sure Riot assign their best artists and designers to work on Ahri. Just look at Popstar and Challenger Ahri.

Everything Cassiopeia-related is done half-assed.

  1. Her rework. Poison mage gone. Poor communication with players. (She is more balanced now, I will give you that)

  2. Model update. Her face is ugly as hell. Have you not seen her splash arts? She's a cunningly beautiful woman with a snake tail. NOT AN OLD HAG

  3. New splash art. Her eyes are not supposed to have pupils, they are supposed to be glowing. Did the artist not look at any of her other artworks before working on the new base?

  4. Her new voice-over completely destroyed that seductive-bitch personality. All she talks about now is poison. The lines are neither witty nor interesting, they feel forced and uninteresting. Have you heard Sivir's lines? She also got a few extra lines for the Shurima event. HOWEVER, hers are all very clever.

  5. This new Chroma pack.. is possibly the worst batch I've ever seen...

This is coming from a Cassiopeia main : I'm devastatingly disappointed in Riot.

Please do not ruin other Champions by putting out content that isn't completed/ good quality...

Riot couldn't care less about their only lamia champion, in all seriousness.

The entire champion feels simply rushed and unfinished. Not only did they force the most hated rework in the history of this game on her, they lazily replaced her textures while leaving her model and animations untouched and called it a VU. Then they went on to ruin any personality she had before by replacing her lines with something entirely unrelated to her actual gameplay. Heck, she doesn't even hiss anymore.

I don't recall the current Cass making use of her poison at all, all she does is spam Twin Fangs. Too bad that kind of playstyle is simply unviable now, she was nerfed too many times already and left in the gutter to rot. Right now she's in a worse state than she was before the rework hit her.

Nine months later and there still aren't any plans to improve her - at this point only another rework can make her playable again. Also her last skin came out in 2013, naturally I'd expect something new this year but she isn't worth the trouble of making new skins for apparently - but she sure as hell is bad enough for a lazily done set of chromas.

I'm appalled at the ongoing neglection this champion and her players have to endure. I've stopped playing her since a couple of months ago, she simply isn't worth it anymore. The entire champion is a massive failure - a failure that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

I'm part of the skins team (QA), and wanted to jump in regarding skins/chromas.

A chroma pack doesn't prevent a champion from getting a skin for another year or more. As we've seen with Pool Party Zac and the Sweet chroma pack, it's possible to release both at the same time, or for a champion to have both a chroma pack and a skin within a similar time frame.

That said, let's say we had a Cassiopeia skin in the works for a Halloween/Winter event - you wouldn't see a skin for her until October/December because we'd hold the skin and release it with a group of skins within a similar thematic.

If you're unhappy with something, telling us why gives us a better feel as to what you don't like. Suggestions on how you'd like to see it change are also awesome ways to give feedback.

For example -

  • I don't like this chroma because it looks too similar to x.
  • I don't think this is bright enough because ____
  • I really don't like the color of this, I think it should be changed to ____ to make it stand out/give x a color scheme they doesn't have.

Hello! thanks for answering this thread, it really helps. I would like to give you some of my personal feedback, as a Cass main who loves her:

  1. I think overall the colors should be a bit brighter, I'm not so sure of the skin tone, maybe keep her skin color normal so it would be just a costume/scale change
  2. Give a little bit extra-importance on the gem on her headdress.
  3. Maybe change the whole concept and call it "Ascended Cassiopeia" or "Empress Cassiopeia" so the colors used can have more meaning, I think the gloomy and shady colors that correspond to "Curse" are really not that appealing.
  4. Also, this very personal opinion, a red one would be nice :c

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and leave feedback! Your number one point was a large point of feedback, and something we're currently discussing.

We don't have plans to change the concept/thematic of the chroma pack, but that doesn't mean it's totally out of the question for a future chroma pack for Cassiopeia. I think Empress would be a cool idea if we gave her regal colors - Sapphire, Ruby, etc. (This would also give her a red one. :P)

I'd like to see a take on the albino snake concept with some white scales on her, maybe replace the blue chroma with it? Also giving her a strong tan would make a nice addition to the very small roster of dark skinned champions in this game so far. Heck, maybe even combine both ideas for an unique contrast (white scales and dark skin).

I'm not a fan of the chroma for a couple of reasons. The yellow one looks very pale and washed out, and the others look way too saturated. I'm not sure how you'd fix it, to be honest. Maybe base Cass just wasn't a good candidate for a chroma in her current state.

I believe a huge opportunity is being wasted with these chroma packs. Instead of treating them as cheap, color palette swaps, the team should be using them as an opportunity to play "what if?" Such as "What if we designed Cassiopeia instead of Brakhar."

For example, you could use the other colors to mimic other poisonous snakes, such as a black mamba or a coral snake (Red touch Yellow, kill a fellow). I'm not sure if there's a venomous blue snake, though.

Additionally, the black tailed skin shown above looks more like a corpse with a snake's lower body and the reddish gold one is way too pale for my monitor's gamma setting.

Snakes are actually venomous. :] There is a blue venomous snake - the blue Malayan coral snake. (I used to be really into reptiles).

I think portraying Cassiopeia in other snake forms has a lot of potential, especially since there is such a wide range of snake species. Since chroma packs are still a new project for us, there's a lot we're still exploring in this particular space.

To address your comment regarding the colors - we're in the process of discussing potential changes for the current color pallette.

She needs a girly look... I want a pink color one where she looks super pretty and then I'd be super happy. <3

Because here at riot games, we would never ever think to objectify women. So we decided to nerf all our artists when it comes to ladys. Just look at kalista and rek sai. Does that look sexy to you? No? Same for us, but it keeps the women quiet. Oh and men can't be objectified. Braum having 16 pack abs with no shirt is just part of his personality :)

This is hideous. Like really awful. When did Morgana turn into a snake?

They're clearly thinking VERY inside the box on these chromas. Like, why not give her some brown human skin, white snake skin, and silver metal jewelry/bikini? Or copper human skin with albino snake skin and gold metal?

Or something crazier like black snake skin and metal with magenta highlights (like void fizz coloring)?

They're just so, so ugly. The only chroma I've seen that's not either boring or an abomination is Nami.

Would say that they look a lot better. Naming the blue one "Dusk" though doesn't really look appropriate. Dusk isn't that bright. Dawn perhaps?

Though my opinion probably isn't worth much since I wouldn't buy any Cass skins with her kit the way it is

The black one is amazing katey! I just wanted to remind you guys at riot that her underbelly texture is badly assigned on all her skins, I don't think it's supposed to be that thin but I understand how it can be a pain to work around it, just don't forget to eventually fix it D:

Hey Katey. Just wanted to say kudos & props for responding as politely and thoroughly as you have throughout this thread, even when the original comment in question isn't particularly deserving. Encouraging to see so many posts in one thread trying to touch base and encourage actually constructive feedback and give thought out responses.

Anyway, that's it. I don't really play Cass so no worthy opinion on the discussion here. Just wanted to acknowledge what I saw.

Took a look at them, her face is still hideous in skin, and it really shouldn't be.... Not that a chroma can really do anything about that, it says more about the apparently rushed VU than anything else.

Can we get a real VU for Cass....Look at her face, that is really all anyone has to say...That is anything but quality.

Aside from her ult the rest of her kit seems fairly focused around her poisons. The rest just looks to be opinions, so really can't comment on that, you're welcome to think what you like about the champ, but Riot has to do what they think is best and if they think the new direction is a better option then that's the way they are going to go.

Actually old cass relied on her Q+W way more than her E, old cass could poke out laners with 2-3 q's, but now we see it has shifted to were she is more heavily dependent on machine gunning her E :/. Also her passive may represent more of posion dependent mage but since they stack passively with time its not that big of a concern to level up Q in lane for more poke since E is just so much more important now.

Let's be honest there, saying Cassiopeia is a poison mage, is like saying Yorick is a summoner champion. Yorick has (near useless) ghouls as a bonus to casting any ability of his bruiser kit. Cassiopeia has Urgot 's kit more or less, with ap damage and more burst, she is NOT a dot-based champion, she's a bursty champion as it stands, and a lane bully (which Riot doesn't want her to be).

I'm sorry, I just don't see a dot-based champion ever working apart from AP Kog with a item 3151 , and we all know how fun that guy is at parties.

Not to mention, two of her skills poisons her enemies and most of her gameplay is centered around landing those poisons to enable her E damage to come through. That's pretty much the definition of a poison-based champ. Sure, they could shift some of the power to the actual poison part, but then she would become obnoxious in lane.

The concept of a DoT mage works. It's just not well implemented apart from Swain and, to a lesser extent, Malzahar.

The basic concept is that in 2 to 4 seconds you will deal much higher damage than a burst mage. Each rotation is stronger, but takes more time to take effect. So that lull that you feel as a burst mage between cooldowns is the period during which the DoT mage's damage starts to ramp up and overcome the burst mage's damage.

This increased damage is of course offset by the fact that, unlike burst, DoT spells offer your opponents the chance to react and retaliate. You can heal, shield or just plain kill the other person, even if in the end you're doomed.

There is nothing inherently wrong with that concept.

I am not a cassiopeia player and largely ignored her before the update,so can you explain me what made her so much of a DoT champ before?

As far as i remember she always had that rapid-fire twinfang on poisoned champs,so why is it sucha big deal now?

Her old Q and W did a lot more damage so she could rely on those two spells to deal the damage she needed to be a threat. While her E always functioned like it does now (in terms of CD, I'm not sure about the healing), it was mere icing on the cake for Cass pre-rework, she didn't rely on it to deal the majority of her damage.

The poison damage, of course, brought up a lot of issues as she could force someone out of lanes with 2 Q's and a few E's. It's like old Nidalee: you can dodge most of my Q's, but it only takes one to chunk you to pieces

Generally content that first hits the PBE still needs some polish, you're right!

Final textures and models, sounds and recall animations are generally touched up/completed after the content has been on PBE. Achlight Vayne is a good example of content that his PBE without final textures/particles.

As always, we welcome feedback regarding skins hitting PBE. The sooner we get feedback, the sooner we can discuss it and potentially make changes.

there are several thousands of pbe players and only a handful (comparatively) rioters, it's easy for a post or feedback to get missed, overlooked, or forgotten about since they tend to get flooded with QQ threads on ANYTHING they add or change. They try their best, but there is only so much they can do or go over in time.

It may not be that was ignored or missed, but they may not have had the resources available to change it (though they should have probably commented on it at the least, again handful of reds lots of us). They only have a small number of particle artists on their team and with so many skins, champs, and updates in the pipeline, they more than likely couldn't add "Giving spooky GP a ghostly flame instead of the red one" to the list. And while the color may clash, clarity as to what is going on takes precedence over how it looks.

While we read through a ton of feedback, not every change suggested will be made. That said, the Gangplank update isn't a project I personally worked on, so I don't have more context on why we did/didn't change certain things.

We're not against saying why we did or didn't change something.

For example, when Prehistoria Anivia went to PBE, we explained that we weren't changing her ice particles, despite suggestions to do so. We explained how we had concepted more 'prehistoric' particles, but they didn't look quite right, so we stuck with the ice particles, and made her model work better with them.

I don't like the new chroma pack for Cassiopeia either, but I do like her new VO.

Her updates models are meh. The faces are pretty bad, and the update for Desesperada Cassiopeia was pretty bad. Classic looks okay I think. Siren's not so good but it wasn't to begin with. The others look the same, with the sharp face they gave her which I'm not a fan of.

Cassi's new splash has a pretty good concept IMO but the execution was off. Her pose is excellent. What better way to get a serpentine curve than with League's actual half snake? And everything looks good for the most part- her scales are well detailed, and the background's solid, but her face... it's just bad. She looks like Wukong. Cassiopeia MonkeyKing It is a shame the most important part of the splash was the worst one.

This is all subjective, of course. But, what you said is true: Cassiopeia always gets slighted because she's not popular. Riot's going to leave her with her trash rework because they don't care. And Meddler said they weren't working on her but they'd get back to her later; which we all know won't happen. They'll just hope we forget about it and if someone brings it up again they'll say the same shit. It's just stupid. If they were going to half-ass it they might as well not have done it all.

Why the fuck is she so ugly in game. I personally never pay attention to the finer details because I assume that my character model atleast slightly resembles the splash art (my comp sucks so I have to believe that) but jesus christ, wtf rito. These pics are eye-opening.
