How does a short ranged ADC play around Malph Ult?

Just got steamrolled by a NON-AP full tank Malph as Kalista. I tried EVERYTHING I could think of short of simply RUNNNING when I saw Malph but I could not stop him Ulting me. Her passive dash isn't far enough to avoid, if I miss flash by even a millisecond I lose, and sometimes if the Malph anticipated the flash I am still ulted. And with his combo I am dead before I land from the knockup. And that is with NO AP in his build.

The best I had was to stay far enough back that I couldn't attack anyone and wait for him to use it on someone else but that just lets the enemy win basically EVERY team fight. HOW do I play around it?

I am seriously asking for advice here. I am not just complaining I want to learn how to deal with this cause if it was as broken as it appears it would be abused in pro play and in higher elos but its not so I am missing something and need help seeing it.

And yes I realize that Kalista is currently considered a bad ADC but the new Sanguine Blade as a first item seems to REALLY help net some early kills if you play around it's passive correctly.

No Squishy can play around AP Malph

Riot HAS to nerf it to the ground.

There is no Counter play to it.

Problem is... Now ith Cloud drake changes, you can't avoid it forever. Sure, you flash one. Sure, you can specifically take Zhonya. Sacrifice a lot of damage for ability to survive and not feed.

However, there is no real counterplay. Malphite WILL ult you down eventually. Ultimate hunter, Cosmic insight, 45% CDR and Cloud drakes make Malphite ult every... 30 second or so. So yeah... good luck?

Well there's your problem. Kalista hasn't existed in like two years.

You need to get your timing right and positioning. Knowing where to be is crucial to carries. Malphite will not walk into your team and ult you cuz that would put him in a disadvantageous position. Also know the trade. Look if youre 0-10 and say youre ahri is 10-0 get yourself in and absorb that shot for her. However if the situation is reverse. Stay on the opposite side of your mid laner and let him her absorb the shot for you.

Flash one, stopwatch the next, and then pray that he has bad target selection until your flash is back up. Unless you're playing a champion with a dash or a very fast speed up it's really difficult to just dodge his ult.

item 3814 has just been buffed for anti-Malphite purposes - unless someone else pokes the shield off first, you should be safe from surprise engages.

The same way every adc plays around malphite. With flash. Literally the only way to counter malph ult.
