Yasuo Windwall Utility is too high

Yasuo's Windwall is WAY to powerful at low ranks with it lasting 4 seconds. Even with the smallest width it requires a team to move around it to be able to partake in a team fight what with it lasting a whole 4 seconds! Most team fights are over in like 6 or less. I think making the duration scale like the width would go a long way with making him feel less toxic to play against. Especially with his windwall being generally the last ability maxed on him. It makes him have to decide on Utility and survivability (W) vs Damage (Q) or Mobility (E).

I was thinking a duration scaling like 2->2.5->3->3.5->4. He still gets his windwall and it still has an effect in team fights and duels, lasting long enough for a benefit in any teamfight without feeling like a complete shutdown. And at late game he gets the widest and longest lasting windwall to really push home his late game carry potential. What does the community think?

Why is it when someone wants to discuss balancing a champ people want to dismiss it because other champs are also a problem if not more so? Riot can balance more than one champ at a time. Besides Yasuo is one of the MOST banned champs in the game only recently being dethroned from the top slot by Pyke. He also doesn't have the best stats.

So obviously his kit is toxic to the games health. Which in my opinion is WAY WAY worse than other champs being too powerful or easy. Can we discuss how to fix a very problematic kit that makes people ban him so much?

Let's address real cancers like Kaisa Ahri first please. Way more problematic pick and win ratios in plat and diamond

Make yasuo's windwall width and duration increase with movement speed and AP. The only thing that should benefit from leveling it is the cooldown.

This way, he can improve it with movement speed, and optimize it with gunblade and guinsoos, but he'd no longer to get everything he could every want simply from leveling up and crit/AS/AD items. A lot of champions have to choose how if they want to enhance their ancillary abilities like tryn, who is hateable in his own right, can only itemize to enhance his healing with AP. Right now, yasuo get's everything he could ever want by purchasing simply AS, MS, AD, and crit. Most items he either doubles or triples down, and he literally gets the most item slot efficiency from crit items over anyone in the entire game, not to mention, the gold efficiency of it. He usually even has room to buy one or two defensive items to make him incredibly hard to kill (healing for a million with BT and dodging most of your skill shots), even though he's a late game carry with a relatively strong early/mid game. Make him have to choose some different itemization if he really wants to make the windwall a strength in his kit rather than just an accessory ability.

My suggestion would be for Wind Wall to have a health bar and to be a targetable object.

Similarly to Yorick's cage and the shields in Overwatch, Wind Wall should be able to block a certain amout of damage before it gets destroyed. Wall HP should scale with ability level. and the less HP the wall has, the smaller it should get. Wind Wall should also appear like Jayce/Anivia/Karthus's walls. Neither one of these abilities fly directly out of the champions, while Wind Wall does.

The primary functioin of Wind Wall should be to provide temporary defense against projectiles, not guzzle up entire combos and render half of the champion pool useless.

Put windwall on braum and give the braum shield to yasuo.

Or give both the braum shield.

Unbelievable he just get to nullify all that damage for free, at least braum takes soe leftover damage from it and is locked in a certain stance.

I can see 4 ways riot could nerf a frustrating part of his kit to get him healthy.

  1. Windwall needs its duration limited or can only eat 1 skill. Sivir has a spell shield that blocks 1 skill so this would be the same as that.
  2. Nerf his E. It gives him mobility, wave clear, lets him dodge skill shots, and powers up his shield.
  3. Turn his flow into a resource that all of his skills will use up and put his passive shield on a 40 second CD timer. Now he doesn't get extra tankiness and isn't able to spam his abilities on CD as easily.
  4. Riot chooses between early game bully and mid to late game teamfighter; he can only healthily be one so rework him based on that decision.

Any one of those would make him less frustrating to play against.

Playing against it is simple enough

Alright, if you want to make his windwall worse, then fine. As a tradeoff, he doesn't rely on crit anymore.
