Ty riot for this tiny detail

Yorick can shield allies with guardian when he puts his wall around them. This is probably such a small detail and nobody really takes guardian on yorick. Shows that riot is trying to open up more playstyles. Ty!

Time for support Yorick to shine.

Wait wut, that doesn't make any sense. Must be a bug

If it's positive to the champion and healthy for the game, it's a "feature."

How do we decide if Guardian Yorick is healthy for the game, tho?

It's not like we don't have enough shields in the game.

Even if you think shields are a problem, this is not an interaction to worry about. Trust me, it's mediocre. I just do it because it's fun.

It's healthy because it opens up a supportive role for yorick, without being op or oppressive. More options allow for deeper strategy. Besides, I doubt you could argue support yorick is unhealthy.

Guardian is intended to proc when you are close to your support. A way which Riot deemed healthy, how is being able to proc it from range healthy? And no support yorick can't be unhealthy, it's flat out trolling

"Allied champions you affect with unit-targeted abilities are also Guarded for 2.5 seconds, irrelevant of distance."

BobaFlautist1 votes

Does it Proc on Raka ult, or is that not considered "unit targeted"?

y0r1ck1 votes

I'd guess no, because you're not targeting anything like you are with Yorick's w or braum's jump.

Marothennan1 votes

Wait is that new? Because I never witnessed it in game ( Probably cause only tanks take it now that I think about it ). But that still doesn't make any sense with yorick's w lol

It makes sense to me. I'm used to using the wall for peel. Against champions like kled or rammus it's even better than a Janna shield. People usually only use it as a trap but it's frankly even better as peel.

Honestly try it out, it feels so natural like it's 100% intended.

I don't think it's new. I've been doing it for at least a month or two I think.

you have probably never witnessed it in game because the only champs who take guardian are tahm, braum, and rakan (all of which have unit-targeted abilities that either are melee range or move them to melee range) lol

okay... then...

huh... never woulda guessed...

I want to know how you figured this out and why you'd take Guardian on Yorick in an actual game to give you this information.

Support yorick

I main the new Yorick for so long. I never took Guardian on him. Only Aftershock with sometimes works aswell with hes W.

flibitydoo1 votes

it actually works on most targetted aoes so long as your cursor highlights an allied champion

For example (and i've proven this on accident) you can fire your Q as soraka at a teammate and it will trigger guardian shield. Note that I said Q. Not W, your Q. Starcall. The damaging one.

(the accident in which I found out was giving a jungler leash where I Q'd the blue buff and it triggered guardian even though I was no where near my jungler, but they were standing on top of the blue sentinel)

So do you think it'd work with Diana q lux e Cass r? I feel like it won't work on most aoes but I haven't tried it
