Continuing Jungle Problem: Top-lane leash VS Bot-lane leash

darkdill··1 votes·1,251 views

Regardless of what you end up doing to the jungle, one thing is going to persist: bot lane starts are almost always preferred because you can expect your bot-laners to leash for you, whereas your mid-laners and top-laners will be far more reluctant to help.

Will there ever be a point where this issue can be fixed? Or is it an intrinsic thing that can't really be dealt with without breaking the game?

My current clear for the new jungle is:

Blue -> Gromp -> Wolfs -> Red -> Gank

Its almost impossible to clear Krugs and Raptors at level 1 with the new changes because of how difficult/time consuming it is. However if you can manage this jungle route:

Krugs -> Red -> Gank

It allows for an early level 3 gank compared to the reverse Red/Blue -> Krugs/Gromp only giving level 2.

Please note that Krugs/Gromp spawn ~15 seconds later then Blue/Red and Smite has ~20 second longer cooldown.

Legitimately I have NEVER seen a top laner be reluctant to leash, not even a troll. Mid lane can't really though as they will miss farm and get behind quickly since their minions arrive so quickly.

So I don't see an issue needing fixed.

Sometimes I have allies who don't like leashing when top-laning.

I've seen a few, but those are mostly Singed (who wants to shove and proxy) and Darius (who wants to cheese their opponent).

I tend to ensure I can clear without a leash anyways, so that isn't much of an issue. Considering I take Scaling Health instead of Flat Armor, it should be even easier for others.

I used to always start red because the stun from golems and heal from red would allow for a better clear with the champs i play. But the jungle is odd now lol, Im interested to see what the norm will be. On the pbe, the buffs spawn first.

I don't think it will be that much of an issue now, since with the new jungle, i am sure that we will get leashed at Red/Blue, like before, which mean that the mid laner, if ranged, can at least land a spell and a few autos, regardless of the side of the map.

I've had like 1 or 2 top laners fail to leash for me in the last ~100 games or so I've played.

The only time I've had trouble getting a leash was when my top laner disconnected at the start and I have to somehow strong-arm the mid laner into leashing for me. That is an impossible task.

I really don't think this is a major problem.
