Does anyone else feel Ghostblade is unimpactful when bought?

I feel like Ghostblade is simply less impactful now than before.

It's more expensive than before 500 gold if you buy it straight up and 600-700 gold if you sit on Avarice for a while and farm. That's 2 whole kills worth of gold.

The extra 25 AD is worth 875 gold but 15% crit is worth 800 gold (2 brawler's gloves), meaning that it's stats are essentially the same for a massive increase in cost.

The crit was actually useful for sustained combat.

Previously it was a nice mid-game spike item that you could buy if you fell behind or wanted to snowball even harder. It was a calculated risk to buy this cost efficient but slot inefficient item.

Now it's supposed to be a "late game" item for assassins, fighters or autoattack bruisers, but these champs don't need late game items! They peak mid-game anyways and don't want everyone hitting 6 build!

With it's stats, armor pen, cdr, and walmart build components I have no idea why you would think that it is a late game item.

the insane 1000 gold combine cost. The old ghostblade was a mid-game item through and through with very low costs everywhere.

Alright. Fair enough. All I can say is that I never noticed that as a problem, but then again I'm used to farming 1550 gold to get my first item in many games.

I'm a melee bruiser/tank main so the #1 thing I look for is low combine costs and low piece costs that steadily build capability.

Ghostblade used to be like that: get 2 lane items, combine them for cost efficiency and minor upgrades, and snowball. Now you need to sit on 1000 (!!!) gold that could've been a Giant's Belt, Chain Armor + Ruby Crystal, etc. that only goes towards upgrading your ghostblade. It's a huge investment.
