Why isn't Sejuani not used more?

I just bought her on a whim when I reached 4800IP and JESUS she is amazing in a Support role. My first 2 games were great.

  • The dash/knock up

  • The constant slows

  • The AOE stun ult which also procs her E slow

  • Can build tanky as hell yet still be able to do a moderate amount of damage

  • High base mov speed

  • High AOE damage potential and great wave clear

  • Passive grants great survivability

How is it that she is not used more? What flaw am I missing here? I assume its an obvious one?

She's my go to tank jungler, and since no one ever plays tanks in solo queue that tends to make her my first choice :P I think the main reason people don't pick her is that she has a pretty weak early game. She's strong once she gets the ball rolling, but before that she's vulnerable to getting shut down and has a fair bit of trouble holding her own. Why pick her when there's safer tank junglers with more reliable engages? (I think Amumu is the one people usually compare her to) As for support? Leona does what she does already :P

Because Amumu is better as a jungler and Leona is better as a support :D

Also Sejuani early game is so fucking bad that I can't handle it, it's just simply boring.

I used to play her even before Cinderhulk. I still play her, but she feels like a worse Gragas atm.

She has bad map coverage early game because her clearing is slow. She's amazing late game has her damage scale on her HP and has reliable CC as well as engage and peeling. The problem is getting her to that stage of the game.

As for support, she's a scaling tank. Support doesn't give her the gold she needs to build items. She's also easy to bully early as she doesn't do anything in lane until she's level 6.

  • does zero damage for 25 minutes
  • just like other late game super tanks Malphite Rammus DrMundo Skarner that are ult reliant, until level 6, you're mostly an xp leech
  • jungle sejuani would be good if again, damage wasn't utter garbage, clear speeds are pitiful, and easily countered by everyone's favorite go-to junglers LeeSin Nidalee Elise Vi Hecarim
  • Sejuani is overall just a mess because there are champions that do the same things mostly as she does but better (I can admit to this even though I despise Leona and Amumu and evenNunu can sometimes be referenced here)

They really need to either rework sejuani into someone worth playing or revert/modify their nerfs

I main Sejuani, since my team wanted a cc heavy tank jungle. I can't stand Amumu, so I went with Sejuani. Her early game clear is bad, but of you can keep your health up in Jungle, you can get some really good pre-six ganks because of her high powered slow and short knock up. She also has some interesting mobility with her q.

hey there i take seji into ranked games jungling her early clears are GOD AWFUL. but once you get through it all she is great. rush item 3751 then get item 3706 item 2032 something i was very succesfull with if im not behind is item 3047 item 1401 item 3001 as a core build. This gives you absurd cheat like damage with respectable survival you do build tanky from there on out though

Because if she ever gets popular Riot nerfs the hell out of her because "other champs need time in the spotlight". This was the exact reasoning a Rioter gave when asked if Sej would be buffed back up last season after her core item (and the reason she got nerfed in the first place), cinderhulk, got nerfed down.

Apparently no one on the live balance team is a Sej main.

  2. she is less mobile than the champions she needs to initiate on.
  3. the champions she needs to initiate on can kill her and she cant kill them without ally help.
