THIS ITEM IS MEETING ALL OF MY STANDARDS!

Sound realy cool for AP jungle like Fiddlesticks Fiddlesticks

IGotScuttleCrabs3 votes

Sarcasm? Doesn't cast often or move much to rack up stacks.

ModKnightsKemplar4 votes

It's still a moderate improvement over runeglaive for him. This will give him some power in fights that he didn't have with runeglaive, for instance.

We Eat Fish1 votes

Its definitely an improvement over runeglaive. The benefit in the ludens splash for fiddlesticks (which I assume is being carried over to runic) is that it helps with his nonexistent wave clear. Either way though, fiddlesticks is definitely a champ that can get away with just a tier 2 machete to be resold later in game. There have been times in the game dorans ring start better than old machete.

Actualy I really hope they don't go throught with this or add least keep runeglaive as a mana jungle item. I really liked it on jungle Hecarim ... Couldn't they do something like:

item 3057 + item 1029 + item 3706 as a 5th jungle upgrade.

Runeglaive hecarim? Wat

Serevas5 votes

It's actually super good, it solves all of his mana problems all game long. There's a challenger player named Valkrin who plays it, and it's really strong.

Runeglaive into all tank.

CoolKnightST4 votes

Like he said with momentspeed quints & hpen marks it's actualy really good. The mana hungry horse suddenly became an ganking machine. It unlocked a pretty intressting playstyle for him. It wasn't about burst anymore & all about sustain damage. I believe he maxed W second for this. It actualy felt more healthy than it's current oneshot style. It also works so well because it provided him with a cheap sheen upgrade.

Serevas3 votes

He'd at the very least put an additional point or two into the ability, and he literally jungled at full HP all the time. It was nuts.

euJHINius3 votes

Thats kinda the reason why we don't have Ranger's Trailblazer. Rangers was supposed to help people who cant clear well, but was also abused by those who already cleared very well. Runeglaive is designed to be an AP item for AP Junglers. If people build it just for their mana problems to be covered, it doesn't help its intended niche.

Runic Echo appears a bit weak to me too. It doesn't really help clearing wise in my opinion. I don't think mages will move and kit around camps a lot to proc the Echo Passive.

Ezreal, please don't ruin this one for us.

Vesarixx8 votes

I think having this in addition to runeglaive would be a better option than replacing it, there are 2 enchantments for AD champions, why not make 2 for AP instead of a one size fits all?

Stellafreyja7 votes

I've never understood why Riot can't make more than 4 Jungle enchantments. They always scream diversity, but Jungle is literally the least diverse role in the game (debatable against Top lane) and requires a certain type of champion.

Vesarixx2 votes

yeah not sure why they do that either, runeglaive would still probably be better on some champs that can proc it often or who benefit from spell blade effects.

KaramAkbar2 votes

Wait what... Jungle is proably the most diverse role lol... You play a variety of tanks, bruisers, ap/ad assassins... Sure you don't have many options when it comes to your first item but most junglers function just fine with the items that are in place (with the exception of ap champs w/runeglaive which is thankfully being changed)

There is no way it will stack with item 3285 . This actually looks pretty broken though. 10% movement speed is a lot. Really looking forward to Nidalee running around my jungle uncatchable.

Serevas5 votes

She doesn't do that already?

DrCyanide12 votes

10% movement speed is the exact same as item 3285 .

dangopee6 votes

Yes. But they are going to get it as their first item as a jungler instead of their second or third. That's a lot of early mobility in the role that requires the most mobility.

DrCyanide4 votes

Honestly, I think I'm OK with that. It should bring the AP enchantment on par with the others, potentially opening up more build paths for some junglers. I currently doubt it would be overbearing to the point Cinderhulk or Devourer have been, but it will be common and likely have people experiment with different junglers.

My only real complaint about this item is that it ruins my 40% CDR AP Warwick Build. Now I have to look for the lost 10% CDR from Runeglaive elsewhere. I seriously don't want to give up my normal Taylor Swift boots to get Lucy Liu boots.

DeathBurst1 votes

What's your build? And can't you just use runes for the 10% missing CDR, since you get more AP/MS on the item? I bet you had some AP/MS in your runes before.

xxxDogmanxxx1 votes

My Warwick Build:

Stalker's Blade: Runeglaive - 10% CDR Will Of The Ancients - 10% CDR Guinsoo's Rageblade Boots of Swiftness - Alacrity Hextech Gunblade Nashor's Tooth - 20% CDR

I got 110% healing from my Q, 60% healing from each hit of my R, 15% healing per auto-attack, and a metric ton of attack speed from Rageblade and Nashor's. This build also did shitloads of damage due to the AP Ratios of most of my items. Runeglaive has 30% on spellblade, Rageblade has 7.5% on its AoE, Gunblade has 40% on its missile, and Nashor's has 15% on auto-attacks.

I currently run Magic Pen Reds, Scaling AR/MR Yellows and Blues.

sigh I suppose I can run 10% CDR on blues. But I'd be giving up valuable MR for that.

DeathBurst2 votes

Well, the other solution is to abandon your item 3009 for item 3158 boots instead. The 10% MS on Runic Echo more than compensate the 20 Flat MS from Swiftness. With just your 345 base MS, you already gain 14 MS compared to the old build. Factor in that the %MS is also applied to the boots+enchant and you are really faster than before, even without Swiftness. Plus you get 10% CDR on your Summoners as a bonus, and 20 more AP for your ratios.

IMHO, the real nerf for your build is that you will proc Echo less than Spellblade, and the ratio is lower. I guess it was very possible to proc Spellblade on all of Q/E/R, if you payed attention to the cooldown on Runeglaive? Now, it will be good if you manage to get 2 Echo procs in a given fight. That's like a 60% AP nerf.

And there isn't really room for a Lichbane in your build, unless you're ready to drop the sustain from WotA.

Anyway, it's a fun build :) I wonder if you could fit a item 3091 in here somewhere? Instead of Nashor's, maybe?

xxxDogmanxxx1 votes

Nah, I dislike Wit's End right now due to the nerfs in damage and attack speed, and the increase in price. Plus Nashors has 20% of my CDR. I guess I'm going to have to go Luci boots then. I'm really gonna miss my slow reduction and Spellblade. Although...

I wonder if toggling my E on and off would make Echo charge up faster. Hmm...

Still probably gonna be a heavy blow on my Warwick.

DeathBurst1 votes

Probably not for E. It doesn't count as a cast for Spellblade, so it should not count for Echo either.

xxxDogmanxxx1 votes

Another solution for me would probably be to bring my jungle Warwick to lane just for the Lichbane. Come to think of it, I could probably pull that off much better.

The build would be:

Guinsoo's Rageblade Will of the Ancients - 10% CDR Hextech Gunblade Boots of Swiftness - Alacrity Lichbane - 10% CDR Nashor's Tooth - 20% CDR

DeathBurst1 votes

Welp, yes, you just replaced Runeglaive with Lichbane and re-ordered the build a bit...

But Warwick in lane... How do you trade? How do you waveclear? How do you CS without being poke to hell?

skeptical

xxxDogmanxxx1 votes

Wave clear and CS are simple with Guinsoo's Rageblade and using my Ult with it brings it to full stacks almost right after. From the jungle, I usually just initiate and farm, letting my laners get the kills, and I assassinate the occasional straggler. With lane, I guess I'd just be committing to a lot more trades than usual.

The poking though is something I deal with constantly anyway, since I main melee bruisers.

Holy shit, is this true?

If so, THANK GOODNESS because I had only recently discovered how utterly trash Runeglaive was.... and was disappointed. If this is implemented, it would be a great boon. Fingers crossed.

Runeglaive isn't trash. It is just restrictive. Not all AP junglers can use it effectively, and this gutted the AP champions who couldn't use it.

KaramAkbar4 votes

Well it wasn't trash initially, but every since preseason it has been literally the worst item, it's the least cost efficient jungle item due to the price increase, and the ability power decrease

SerBlaise1 votes

Hmmm...Should be interesting. I actually thought runeglaive was in an OK spot. I suppose this will solve the issue of mages not being able to use it properly though. You trade extra mana AND CDR for 10% movement speed and 20 AP though. I can't say whether that's good or bad until I play it.

RisenDarkKnight2 votes

Runeglaive was good on that champs that could use it, but this will help other champs like Fiddlesticks who don't get much benefit from sheen.

It only works on spells so his Q will not trigger Runic Echoes.

blackcat13001 votes

I wish it was 15% move speed or you got 60+ 1 ap per level so late game it would be on par with other ap items but this is a lot more ap champion minded item it works for Akali Annie Fiddlesticks Evelynn Fizz Karthus Kennen Shaco Vladimir Zyra Amumu

you could actually go runic echo into item 3068 item 3116 item 1305 item 3151 item 3089 Amumu with runes and masteries 3000+ health and 500+ap.

I think they should make the item give charges over time instead of when moving. Being forced to move while doing camps is annoying. If you gain more charges as you move faster, they can make it scale off of MS for the stacks over timer.

Obviously you still would get stacks off of spells.
