Got a survey from Riot asking why I don't play anymore

Stellafreyja·7/11/2016, 11:07:05 PM·110 votes·6,772 views

It was pretty funny. Immediately asked if there were other games I was playing instead coughoverwatchcough and why I played it more than League.

I don't know about anyone else who hasn't played in a while, but just the thought of playing a game of League sounds draining to me. Like, I don't want to queue into a match and play a one-side game for 20-60 minutes. I could play like 4 Overwatch matches in that time. I don't play Ranked, I don't have friends to queue with, I don't want to play solo. I usually played ARAM because it was pretty fun and quick but I can't even bring myself to play that. And the RGM get boring very fast. (Who wants to play Ascension for the 5th time in 3 months?)

I remember having so much fun when I first started about a year ago...

And the fact that garen can out damage adc's with his E while building crit and still be tanky af. good job rito, how bout you learn to balance a game.

Agreed. Before it seemed like the game could mostly still go either way, and one play can change the game. Now it's the game is decided in 10 mins.

Yeah, not liking longer games is definitely a good reason to not play League. It takes time, and that can be pretty draining. It's fun when you first get into it because you're learning everything and everything is new, but once you know the routine, you really have to enjoy that routine or you're not going to have much fun. Sounds like you have a good reason for not playing.

This is the most true statement of all of these. I don't understand why they keep bringing back ascension and poro king and definetly not dominion. They havent brought urf back in june and one for all in may. We haven't seen any other real game modes other than the ones they recently thought about and expected the community to love. Yet what we want is the crazy game modes that changed the game in a major way. Not just a reskinned dominion or dominion map. Not a reskinned ARAM.

How is that i never get any surveys from Riot? They dont give a fuck about EUNE/EUW or what?

Coming back on league after trying OW,i'm enjoying league A LOT more. OW is frustrating and the ranked mode is one of the worst to date. I'm not even joking and if anyone wants information on it,i'll be happy to provide links to show how fucked this mode is.

League used to be super fun. Then Riot insisted on changing everything every season without placing any focus on balance. They constantly break their own game, and expect people to still like it.

It's ok, hopefully their CEO will drop dead and they'll sell out the company. They've sold out everywhere else.

Unfortunately it has been this way since launch. It was far worse when the game first launched. In those days an early first blood meant the match was over. It is better now but far from becoming balanced. Most of us have learned to accept it and take it as a part of league.

IMO what made the game unbalanced is the match making system which puts people who consistently have low k/d/a and over all contribution in the same game with much higher skill level players. I'd rather wait longer and get players closer to my skill level than be matched with someone who has mass feeding potential.

This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion but there should be wood or training league where the consistent low scoring , in all criteria , players are kept until they show some improvement.

Umm.....

You can't compare Overwatch to League. It was funny for awhile, but now everyone realized that Overwatch ranked is just as or even more cancerous than league's. Playing solo in overwatch against a premade is literally an impossible game to win; at least in league you can carry, but nope in overwatch everything is broken and matchmaking sucks. The ranked system itself is even complete trash. Hearthstone's ranked system is better. I refunded Overwatch the moment they released what they call "competitive" which is just aids in a bottle, handed to us.

League of Legends' major problem is that once a game comes along that has similar appeal, but with less stress induced by playing the game, players will flock away from League and move on. League is a great game but it is far too stressful to play over and over again. I get mini-anxiety attacks before every ranked game. When your subconscious mind is telling you that it doesn't want to do something, there is very little you can do. I used to be able to put up with it because I used to get some modicum of enjoyment from playing the game, but recently it just has not been the case. I have found games to be stressful, un-enjoyable, and I am not progressing forward despite the fact that based on my skill level, I should be. I am being unintentionally handicapped as a support main, and rarely enjoy playing my secondary jungle because players at my elo have this idea that it is acceptable to push incredibly hard early on and expect not to get ganked by the enemy jungler.

Maybe I will enjoy the game more when Riot creates my champion spirit animal. But until then, I may play a game from time to time, but never with the fervor that I used to.

My last point: Riot is clearly aware that League of Legends is losing players to other games. While this is to be expected as time goes on, Riot is also gathering data to project possible solutions to their waning player base. Clearly they are concerned enough to send out surveys to players who have stopped playing. They will attempt to fix whatever they have broken to draw players back in. Just give them time.

For me, I havent been playing as much because Ranked is too stressful. I've gotten to where I want to be at the end of the season (Gold V, just for the rewards), and playing Normal games is kind of pointless aside from loot chests, which you only get once per week.

Also been playing Overwatch, and WoW Legion beta

I dont get what the fuss about Overwatch is...or even why its compaired to this game in the 1st place.

Overwatch is a completely different game.........the only way it is even remotely similar is that fact thats its team vs team...and thats where it stops.

And also ....i mean i havnt played it....but just from watching streams...i dont even see how people see half the shyt they are shooting at....most of the time all i see is a tiny person wayyyyy off in the distance or someone halo jumping out the sky getting right in your face.

I 1st heard about that game 5 months before the closed Beta....i signed up but didnt get chosen.....was pretty pissed because at the time everyone i talked to never even heard of it...but a few of them that signed up after i told them about it got chosen for the closed beta lol. But then after seeing more and more game footage.....i didnt feel as pissed anymore.
