Hypothetically, should Irelia ever have her ult healing based on enemies hit, not damage dealt?

Say that Irelia gets nerfed within a few patches and suddenly is underpowered. In that event, one way Riot could buff her back to viability could be to change how the healing on Transcendent Blades works. Namely, they could change it to heal a flat amount per enemy hit (greater amount when you hit Champions), as that would be far more consistent than what's on live. On live, Irelia's Transcendent Blades heal based on the damage they deal, but get their damage hugely reduced by enemy armor, and Irelia players rarely ever get ArPen (i.e. NEVER).

#"But this would make her ult OP!"

You are assuming that Riot would not adjust its stats accordingly. The healing potency could be lower, the damage could be lower, etc. These things would be a tradeoff to making the healing actually consistent and not dependent on how much armor the enemy has (which Irelia can't control).

#"She doesn't need buffs!"

The word "hypothetical" must mean nothing to you. This is JUST IN THEORY.

If you're going to mention hypothetical, but then say that the stats can be adjusted accordingly, there really isn't much of a discussion because you basically just said "let's change how the healing works, but make it heal for roughly the same against the majority of comps."

You could come up with some theoretical numbers that seem balanced.

Also, as a tradeoff, if the healing is more consistent, maybe the damage can take a hit.
