Bard is badly designed--at least partially.

I have a problem with the new support, Bard, and groan (wanting to dodge) every time I see a teammate pick him. Why? I have three major complaints.

  1. While I appreciate the attempt at making a "roaming" support, the chimes spawn in such awkward/bad places that the Bard player consistently overextends into enemy territory to get them, and often gets picked in the process, leaving us with a 4v5.

  2. He doesn't actually do that much supporting. His heal is "okay," and his binding is really good, but the rest of his kit doesn't contribute much, except for well-placed ults...

  3. His ult has too much room for trolling his own team. I had a game the other day where I was 9-0 around 15m, and we ended up losing because our Bard kept ulting me when the enemy team would chase, allowing them to fully surround me and kill me, leaving us with a 4v5. I've also seen Bard players do this with dragons and ulting our own towers to allow the enemy team to dive. Please fix this broken piece of crap ult!

I have a couple ideas about how to fix his ult, so consider them and see if there isn't something that might work better.

a. Make it only effect enemies. That way he can no longer troll his allies with it. b. Make it point-blank aoe (like Galio's ult). Then he has to put himself in whatever situation he's trying to pull his teammate into. This doesn't fix all of the trolling issue, but it would at least mitigate it. c. Have a component like Thresh's lantern where your ally has to click on it to activate it. Then it is voluntary, and retains its identity without having so much troll potential. d. Change it entirely. Make it work like Urgot's ult, except only target allies and happen instantly. This would have to have an element like in example C, or the trolling potential would still be too high.

Anyway... this is just my feedback on the new "support" who causes more losses than wins. (And yes, there's a bit of salt here.)

"Alistar is a badly designed champion: His Headbutt has too much room for trolling his own team. I had a game the other day where Alistar kept headbutting low health enemies to safety. I even saw a game where Alistar headbutted the assassin towards the teammate he was arguing with when he got low.

"Kalista is a badly designed champion: her ult has too much room for trolling her own team. I had a game the other day where Kalista bound the Zed and followed him around yanking him back whenever he ulted a target. There's too much potential trolling."

"Jarvan the IV is a badly designed champion: His ult has too much room for trolling his own team. I've had games where he locked his own teammates inside his ult with the enemy."

"(Insert Name Here) is a badly designed champion: His has too much room for trolling his own team. he can just keep going to mid lane and giving the enemy free kills"

Can we please, please, please stop bringing this up? Every champion in the game has a potential to be used for "trolling". I've had great games with Bard on the enemy team; one had a player who was cunningly using his ult to lock down members of my team when they were out of position, allowing him to to let his allies move in and fed his teammates pick after pick.

Let's not try to discourage any kind of growth and innovation with this game because we are all too scared that something could potentially be used by the fraction of the player base who decide to be jerks with it.

I basically dodge Bard games because of this.

Too much trolling to be had with that.

It's like A41 ziggs with the satchel charge.

Question. Does Bard Delay channeling abilities, or does he make them run out?

Anivia/Swain/Kennen/Fiddlesticks

I don't know if they all react the same way because I feel like my last game, Katarina simply continued her ult shortly after as if there was no time in between.

I think Bard is a really smart design as a champion. The reason his W/L ratio is so terrible is because he is so different from all the other champions. I think people just haven't found the right way to play him.

Bard's Ultimate is a free item 3157 for the enemy team. I HATE IT.
