Am I the only one who thinks the "Villain" mechanic wasn't that helpful to Garen?
It just seems really gimmicky without offering meaningful power to his kit. I always thought it would have been better if his ult had a small, secondary aoe explosion around the target (not hitting the primary target with the secondary explosion, ofc). This would give him more teamfight power, and make his ult feel less like a gimped, stripped down, bad version of Darius' ult. Also, his Q's movespeed is neat, I guess, but it seems he needs a proper gap closer to keep up with the rest of the mobility creep--especially since he was one of the original champions in the game, and he barely plays any differently from back then, when a champ having a jump, dash, or blink was something special rather than simply bundled into every overloaded kit from S3+.
The "rework" on him a couple seasons ago didn't really do anything to him. He's basically just a ball of stats still, with low interaction and a low play potential. In many ways, he feels like an inferior version of Riven in most (not quite all) ways that actually matter, and the only things he really has over her are the high regen, higher hp, and %dmg reduction steroid, but at the cost of low mobility, less damage, a strictly inferior ult, less aoe/wave clear, and generally being way easier to predict.
I'm not really suggesting that he should be better than her in all those categories, but rather that he just needs a slight bump to his power via more mobility and another look at his ult.
