They stated that his base damage and ratios are low in return for his CC and stealth. And his ult gives the gold to an ally that assist in killing them.

I dunno what to tell you then, because youre going to be dissapointed if you think he is going to work as a pure assassin mid laner. He has too much utility, his damage wont be on par with other assassins. Hes an assassin in the sense twitch is an assassin and vayne is an assassin.

His q technically is aoe and his e probs hits minions too, but it likely wont do enough damage or have enough safety and waste too many resources on waveclear. He really wants to roam regardless of minions, so support works for that.

If you think that pyke is gonna work like a midlaner you are probably wrong, Pyke gets no bonus health PERIOD. That means he is going to be MUCH squshier in lane compared to other champions. His base stats are also fairly low (from what ive heard) so those 1v1 dreams early on are unlikely to happen unless your laner is just bad. Any other assassin has much more burst than Pyke does which means that in a pyke vs assassin lane match his low health and lower burst are going to hurt him real bad. The reason he is classified as a support is because he can do damage when he sets up and has another laner to help propel him forward into the realm of having several items. Those 1v1s you see from his trailer are just a fed pyke. Those dont happen lvl 1.

well he sets up kills, with his stun and what not, while hes not the general heal and buff support hes an assassin support who can set up kills and still be able to gut you. its diffrent kind of support

He most likely won't have good enough Scaling or Base Damage to be a great solo Assassin(like Evelynn or Zed) so that's probably how riot plans to make it work though he most likely will still be good elsewhere since that's been their goal lately.

Was he fed? Because Support Brand can do that to, or support with any champion that does significant damage, hell brand could do it without being fed lol

Brand isn't a support people just play him support. Brand is way overturned and needs nerfs.
