Is Kha'Zix viable?

I wanted to pick up some AD junglers for the upcoming patch's armor nerfs and MR buffs and have been trying Kha'Zix out. However, he feels so completely garbage. His jg clears are so slow and I feel like his burst is so weak compared to what I am used to on jg assassins. I have messed around with the runes and it hasn't helped much.

I know the Kha'Zix isn't even thought about in competitive play, but many champs aren't so I was wondering if Kha'Zix is just completely nonviable in his current state?

Taric is viable.

However, it depends how you play them. A lot of people prefer Rengar over Kha'zix, but I prefer Kha'zix. I prefer Akali over Katarina, in fact I hate playing Katarina, just can't do anything on her. I prefer AP Kog'maw over Azir, I can't really play Azir.

Just kind of depends on your play preference. I've seen good Khas carry games and bad Khas feed like hell, and same with every champion.

I don't think he is. I think his passive being disabled by minions and jungle makes him worthless. One change, Riot, that's all it'd take.

I don't think his passive and Q are. It reads: "Kha'Zix marks all visible enemies who aren't accompanied by any of their allies nearby as isolated."

Have you tried using Kha'Zix top/mid?

His early game is somewhat weak, but once he finishes item 3074 he becomes very strong. At SoloQ battles it is very easy to pick people off.

Also, although his early game is weak if your opponent plays correctly, you can poke people with passive + Q. Many people don't expect Kha'Zix to do so much damage. Kha'Zix's lack of waveclear earlygame can be an advantage if your opponent pushes, as it allows Kha'Zix to get them isolated. This can potentially allow Kha'Zix to get early kills.

You may ask if there is any reason to pick Kha over other assassins, for example, Zed and Talon. Kha'Zix advantage over Zed is a better late game, as Zed's damage can be completely negated by QSS and Zhonya. On other hand, Kha'Zix's damage can only be countered by proper positioning. While he is reliant on getting targets isolated, it is not like other assassins don't rely on picking people off. Over Talon, Kha'Zix has an advantage of having better early game, better poke, and the fact that he isn't forced to build full damage to be useful (I build some tanky items on Kha'Zix, namely item 3110 item 3102 )
