    • ** Curse Mark:** Makes morgana's next damage ability inflicted on them stronger (curse mark is consumed after)
  • Q – Dark Nightmare

    • Active: Morgana releases a sphere of dark magic that travels in a line, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit and temporarily causes the target enemy to Flee.
      • Curse Mark – Binding: Morgana's sphere of dark magic now temporarily roots them.
  • ##W – Tormented Soil

    • Active: Unchanged
      • Curse Mark – Blast: Target curse mark get consumed dealing true damage based on the targets missing health
  • ##E – Black Shield

    • First Cast: Morgana channels for up to 3 seconds, increasing Black Shield's range over 1.5 seconds. Morgana can move while channeling, but she gradually slows herself for the duration by up to 50%.
    • Second Cast: Morgana creates a shield arround herself for up to 5 seconds, absorbing magic damage and rendering her and her allies inside the shield immune to all crowd control while the shield holds.
      • Range: 350-500
  • ##R – Soul Shackles

    • Active: Unchanged
      • Curse Mark – Chained: The Tether Shackle is stronger pulling the target a short distance toward herself.

She isn't in need of a rework honestly.

Her passive is still heavy outdated and her Q despite been in controle right now has always been problematic in the ballance area. The main reason she's ok right now is that mages overal recieved heavy nerfs accross the board. I'm 100% sure we will see complains again when the meta shifts or when mages get some love again.

Her passive is not really outdated, or else your saying nasus is outdated as well. Her q is just a typical attack move, like lux's snare. or jhins snare. Or jinx's snare. Wow. A lot of supports and ADC's.

Well, the idea is intresting by itself... but also highly unnecessary, in my opinion.

The passive is weird, since it does proc on autoattack and spell effects and really cripples her on taking instant action most of times. Which is not something bad by itself, having a slow-paced champion is not bad, it' s just that I am not sure that it's morgana.

The Q is basically a strong CC ( fleeing ) that then can get combined with a snare. If you wanted to avoid the scenario where morgana spams her Q hoping to get to a champion then i can understand that ... but even so, a flee is no joke. Even if you place a slow instead of a flee i would see the pattern to not change, just to feel weaker.

About the W, that makes her stronger against tanks. I think is sorta ok, i guess? I don' t think she is meant to be so strong against those, and placing damage zones is already effective against tanks, but no problems with that.

The E is... nice, on one hand, broken as hell in the other. This basically means that the enemy Malphite cannot engage your team as long as you are there, for example. Making the effect only in proximity of her and not targeted/centered on an ally also shows up weird interactions with her, like having her to be close to the team fight a la Sona.

Last but not least, the ult. Nothing to say here, even the enhanced proc it' s just a layer of power and complexity that is not that bad either.

In the end, this change will put her more in proximity to a fight than ever. The need to get that close to the enemy due to passive and the 2 second wait, the true damage on W, the E that can cover up engaging allies and that can offer additional tankyness and the ultimate pulling enemies to her would make her far more proficient as a tankmage, rather than a backline support. Is this the gameplay of Morgana?

Also, i am not quite sold to the passive. That might be just my impression, but i don' t feel like it is used properly. Obviously this kind of things emerge only when properly playtesting things, so i can only guess.

The reason behind the passive is pretty simple. Morgana position has always been intressting and changes over the situation:

  • Situation 1: Long range poking with her Q & W & Her passive
  • Situation 2: Engaging (sometimes even flash) with her ult following up with zhoyna's
  • Situation 3: Disengage with her Q and E

Morgana's kit doesn't really come together towards one goals. Instant she spread them open depending on the situation and makes use of tools to alter them (flash, zhoyna's) rather than improving the action she suppose to pull off. In any other champion design this would give problem but strangly in her case it kinda fits her.

So I wouldn't be supprised the passive I suggested looks strange to you. It's simple shows how her kit functions add this point in time. Don't forget despite the curse mark her base values and strength of abilities are still and big powerhouse. The passive only allows her to alter her playstyle rather than focussing on tools like flash or hourglass.

Let's take Q for example. Morgana heavy relies on this ability to disengage. That's why the hitboxes are so big and the root duration is so long. Her whole kit is currently build arround this ability. If she doesn't hit her Q the enemy can engage on her or her allies. If she doesn't hit Q she can't aply her full damage with her W. So basicly she really depended on this ability add any point in time and nerfing it is almost no option.

For this reason I took the effect flee. This forced the enemy in the opposite direction. So she can use it as an disengage tool. Since she knowns in what direction her enemy goes she can still use it to aply the damage of her W. So it still forfulls both functions her current Q has. The main differents is that on longer range Morgana can't use her Q to aply her W damage what would force her closer to the fight. We can still buff up the range of her W a bit to compensate for this change.

Maybe her passive still need some tweaks but I think it's a good direction to go with her. I didn't really want to rely on a stack system like done with almost every new champion but maybe it's still the alternative way to go with the passive. The main idea with the passive/Q interaction still is that a condition has to be made by the passive in order to give the Q the root ability.

As far her W goes. Her burst is pretty low compaired to other mages and she often stuggles right now to even make a cut on a tank. Giving her an option (again with an condition) to deal with tanks/juggernauts. Can never be a bad idea to make her more suitable for a solo lane.

Honnestly an AOE black shield was to compensate for the offensive power she lost with the change since she no longer can aply the shield on an ally champion. And it's kinda the point that a malphite wouldn't be able to ult add any point in time. I actualy had many versions her E:

  • An version where she roots herself and aplies the shield with 400 range (with option to cancel it offcourse)
  • An version where she doesn't have the channel condition and the range scales with skill rank
  • Versions with or without range scale conditions

Maybe an solid range is better for the champion difficulty but I'm not sure their are enouge variables to tweak it than.

Than the ult (R). The curse mark idea is mainly foced arround allowing to use the ult to catch people. Think it like the first thing a Thresh Q does. She will probaly use Flash sometimes but if she can get in range their will be situation where she isn't forced to use flash to keep them in ult range.

I never expected that this suggestion would be a solid rework. Their are still some problems in her kit I couldn't solve entirely in the design yet.

Rework Morgana, no one will play her. Fine as is.
