Seriously... can we ban Aram accounts already? Or just remove Aram.

Last 8 Aram games... 6 Fiddles 5 Morgs 5 Ziggs 5 Raka's 4 Kat's 4 MF's 4 Ez's 4 Lux's

The math does not add up to "random."

Most of which had random letters or Chinese/Korean names...

This isn't even unusual anymore and anyone that regularly plays ARAM know this. The mode is being abused to farm IP to fully unlock accounts. They just sit on the 15-20 best aram champs and farm IP with team comps that can't be beaten reliably on ARAM by people that are playing random garbage comps.

You don't go into Morg/Fiddle/Lux/MF/Ziggs and expect to win, or even have fun. You literally just end up sitting at tower with your Patheon/Lee/Ryze/Jax/Khazix truely random comp while they build 4 void staves and poke you into oblivion. You can either open the lane, ff at 15, or get stuck with that tryhard duo that refuses to do either. At the end of the day LoL between relatively equally skilled people, in a 24/7 lane fight, comes down to math. It's anti fun.

There are some other factors impacting the biased champion frequencies beyond aram only accounts though, so I dunno that aram only accounts are actually that big of an issue as they feel.

For example, many of those champs are also relatively 'easy' champs (many of which are also cheap) that most relatively new players will pick up early on, so almost everyone will own them. In contrast, something like kha'zix is a bit more niche and not as broadly appealing, so a lot of strong in aram champs are just coincidentally popular champs in the first place, making them show up more often.

Another issue is dodges and rerolls. Dodging in arams is fairly common, since people don't care as much about that queue, and if they see that their team comp is garbage, someone is likely to dodge, resulting in a bias towards relatively strong aram comps. On top of that theres the rerolls, so even if everyone owns every champ (resulting in a 'truly' uniform random champ distirubtion), the weakest ones tend to get rerolled so you don't see the weak champs as often as the strong.

I own every champ from 450-3150 IP and then some 4800 and 6300 ones that I like to play and I have like 70% win rate in ARAM. Almost every single game I play I get a champion who can be useful in some manner. If it is a champion I don't care for I can just reroll. I don't see where your problem is.

I own all champions and trust me. You'll have our problems sooner or later.

If there really are so many aram accounts, they would be on your team too.

This is a sad crying thread because you lost a game. Quit your whining.

ARAM's the only thing I play, so please don't remove it.

I think the heart of this issue, or at least what gets me the most about aram accounts, is that ARAM is supposed to be a FUN game mode. However, people eventually realized they could "have more fun" if they had "aram accounts". Unfortunately, this makes it feel like these players are killing the fun for the non-aram-account summoners.

Another problem is, how exactly would riot determine what an aram account is. If they based that merely on the amount of champions owned, or based on certain champions owned, even then summoners would get incorrectly marked that were not actually aram accounts.

Summoners would not voluntarily join an "aram account only" queue either, because that would increase there chances of losing, and that is what they wished to avoid in the first place by making an aram account.

RIOT could make everyone have the same champion pool for ARAM - that is the only way to make things "fair". RIOT will never do that, because then, people would be playing champions they don't even own, or like, and that would still be, at least in RIOT's eyes, be "less fun" than playing (with your non-aram account champion pool) vs aram accounts.

Making an ARAM account might be unfair but it is in no way bannable.

What they should do IMO is make an official aram ladder, so the aram accts will play vs the aram accts. I understand there is aram mmr but they should just go ahead and make a ladder for aram.

That wouldn't really accomplish anything except probably actually increase the amount of aram accounts. As you say ARAM has it's own MMR already, and matchmaking only goes by mmr and not rank, so if you're facing aram accounts currently, you'd face them with a rank system too. But with a rank system there'd be more players who want shiny ranks who would turn around and make new aram accounts, so even the lower aram mmr's would have ARAM only accounts.

My 2 cents is that Aram games at level 30 should require the account to own 50+ champs. That's not much to ask. New players would have a reason to purchase the Beginner Champ packages, veteran players already own most/all champs anyway. Frankly I'd feel more comfortable if ranked had the same requirement.. but that's an entirely different topic.

While even with 50 champs you can slant the system a lot... there are really only 20 or so top tier Aram champs that really unbalance the mode. While the reroll adjustment in theory was a good idea (more rerolls the more champs you own) in practice it actually punishes the newer players that own 20-50 weaker Aram champs and only 3-4 good ones. They rarely get rerolls, and get stuck with a bunch of bad 450-1350 IP champs they unlocked. The Aram account guys have a 2/3 chance of getting a top tier champ, and don't need to reroll because they tend to run in premades. 3 or 4 out of 5 of their champs are going to be from that pool.. and when champs like Fiddle/Morg/Lux/Cait ect are free... it's damn near 5/5.

Owning 50 champs would put the Aram pool between 50-60 champs.. which would make owning just 50 simply limit rerolls. you'd see a LOT more games where there are only one or 2 OP Aram champs.. instead of 3-5.

I know I'm not a particularly skilled LoL player. I'm about as average as they come (hover around mid silver.) At 37 it's hard enough to keep up with these 15-25 year olds without them having some ridiculous comp in a random game mode.

I literally ran into Morg/Malphite/Orianna/Yas/MF the other day... and there is no way in hell that was random... especially when 4 of the 5 people had the same club name.. I mean we didn't have the worst comp ever. Irel/Xin/Yorick/Ashe/Kalista... but there isn't much you can do in a mode that so favors team fighting/poke.

Yes the 5man premades I am complaining about... are on MY team. 6v4 OP. Seriously some people have issues reading..

Unlock all champions in ARAM.

Problem solved.

Doubt that is something that will ever happen though. At the end of the day Riot is all about making money.

ARAM ranked should be a thing tbh.

  1. You can make aram truly random and give every champion the same % chance to pop no matter which ones you own or not so it doesn't matter if accounts only own the 15 best aram champs. they'd still get stuck playing randoms like everyone else.

  2. You can make aram more evenly matched by using # of champions owned as an aram matchmaking guide in addition to mmr. So if you own every champion in the game, you won't end up against an equally skilled player who only owns 20 champions.

  3. I had a 3rd suggestion in mind but it escaped me... I'll add later if it comes back
