WTF is going on? does anyone care what has happend bot lane? this shit is clearly not fun for literally anyone/everyone to play, the balance is simply unfair and a joke. ill go as far as saying nerf these joke mages and code the game so only certain champs that were originally designer for the role to be coded to only be played bot lane as intended jesus christ what a joke.

The mages aren't the problem, the problem lies in the fact that the other two supportive archetypes have not gone through their updates yet. Both Guardians and Enchanters have not received their updates so are not equivalent in power to what mages got when they went through their update. To be fair though, Zyra has been a support pick for over three years and no one started complaining about her until recently.

The problem is the meta.

What is pushing people to play AP building supports are items like item 3814 and lethality. Before they weren't really meta aside from Zyra . They were mostly people that were not happy about having to play support or thought they could skip farming and just KS their carry.

The meta makes it so difficult to protect your carry currently. Example, if Khazix pops up with item 3814 your carry is just dead.

Your only hope is to do enough damage to kill these squishy assassins. They rotate bot lane so often because they can get a kill on almost ADCs and most supports. On top of this damage building supports have always been a pain, but now it's almost all we see. I can't tell you how many Brand Annie Malzahar Zyra supports I've run into compared to other seasons. This is my 2nd season being a dedicated Support main though. I just believe the meta is what is causing hard times bot lane. ADCs have fallen out of favor, and lethality and item 3814 have taken center stage which changes the support meta.

Zyra is a very specific problem recently, so we should also take note of that. She was so powerful, and caused the wave of MissFortune fail supports bot lane after the pros picked her in a very specific situation to counter her damage and lane domination. She is still quite strong and one of the supports that does a ton of damage.

ummmm, what? Mage supports happened before lethality hit and even after lethality hit it wasn't really a thing until about a week before the update to lethality that made it a lot more powerful, (7.3 I think) What brought out the mage support craze was brand support at worlds last year. I think the only one that is new is the malzahar support, and honestly I think that came up specifically because of Jhin, but then gained popularity.

Did I say anything about mage supports being new? I used to main one.

They were not as popular last season as they are now, and there's a reason for that. It isn't that Enchanters and Guardians are going through a rework. Some of them are still very good, and played quite often. The spike in AP building supports is a consequence of lethality and item 3814 .

There is almost no counter play involved besides deleting them before or after they kill your carry. Also Malzahar support was a thing before, and that was almost as broken as what is going on currently.

I think that OP is right to be upset, especially if he mains support or an ADC that isn't Jhin .

I was saying that you're both right, but I don't agree with everything you guys said. Support shouldn't only be for certain champions, but bot lane meta is miserable thanks to the overall meta. You are right that mage supports aren't the problem, but you're wrong that the problem is that some champions are currently being reworked.

oh boohoo! sorry bot lane isn't living up to your terrible close minded expectations. You want something to alleviate the pain?

The problem is that you don't understand there are no "intended" champions. People play what works and the history of people finding what works and doing it is why the champion is seen there and why people who don't understand think that they are "supposed to" be there. This is another example of playing what works.

They're taking too much time to fix every problem.
